Is she still touring around Japan under the guise of a trade mission? Would be a real shame if ol' Godzilla decided to come back

My bet is they double down. It's going to be so annoying hearing all vocal minority talk about separation and joining the US after this.

That is the thing that I think has hurt the Conservatives over the last decade. When they united the PC and Reform it came at the right time and they were able to hold power for 10 years but since the Liberals took over and the rise of MAGA it feels like the CPC has leaned a little further right and have lost the swing centrist voters that would flip flop between the Liberals and Progressive Conservatives. I think Trudeau did lean a little far to the left that was going to end up in the Liberal party demise but with Carney coming in and making some changes to the narrative they have regained the centrists and may also gain support from the left leaning NDP/Green who do not want to see the Conservatives win and will put their vote towards the Liberals.
For the CPC do they try and go more Progressive to gain back the centrists and risk losing some of the loonie tunes to the PPC? If they could ever get a charismatic leader they will win. Hey they might win tonight but it is remarkable the turnaround in the polls since Trump started mouthing off and Trudeau faded away.

This is how I have come to accept either outcome tonight. If the Conservatives win then I have a hard time seeing Smith being able to maintain since she will not be able to blindly blame Ottawa for everything. If the Liberals win then Smith is going to be safely employed as Premier for the foreseeable future

I voted last weekend during early voting and for the first time ever I voted liberal in a federal election. I need a shower now.

From the super early results so far:
Conservatives leading = 2
Liberals leading = 2

Results from Maritimes are starting to come in. I thought they couldn't release results so early? Wasn't the election called or the results were so overwhelming favoring one party before most people in BC and maybe Alberta got to even vote so the next election they couldn't share results until after the entire country got to vote?

338 has a liberal sweep in Newfoundland so will be early indicators of where we are relative to polling
Central Newfoundland was a toss up seat basically 49/49

Nixon not winning Calgary Confed would be oh so sweet. I just love seeing that loser stay on brand.

They essentially fixed this issue by having all polls close from Quebec’s to Alberta close at the same time and then BC 1hr later.
So Ontario is 9:30 - 9:30 and we are 7:30-7:30 and BC is 7:30 - 7:30 (all local times)
It’s hard to get counting done at a reasonable time and no leaks with all the scrutineers so this seems like a reasonable compromise
