What a frustrating game.
I thought we looked pretty good, but a couple of bs calls around the net, Hellybuck playing really well, and Winnipeg burying every good chance they've had, we're getting dummied.

It feels like the last month of hockey, every team we've played is shooting at like 20-25%.

Keep Brad as the GM and you can call it a re-tool and still have a lottery team during Darryl'd tenure. Bit of a win-win.

If the Flames could move Gaudreau or Monahan for solid futures at the deadline though they could then use a portion of those futures and cap space to make moves in the summer to win now.
I like Seattle’s chances better.

With the way he's been playing the past 15 or so games, I'm barely convinced he's even an NHLer anymore. Saddens me to say that as I was hoping he would find a way to turn things around. He has done anything but.

Nothing is wrong with Markstrom. He is elite. He is fighting it a bit but can you imagine having to go out there and play behind this team? It would be completely disheartening. The forward group is an absolute joke.

Well...I'd say that was a waste of a Monday night, but...it's about right, for a Monday night.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

.884 save percentage over 11 games since he came off IR. He's been putrid.

Interesting...so the Flames get beat 5-1, and had no fault.

for the first time ever I agree with you

He allowed 3 goals...sure he could have made a highlight save but they were all MAJOR defensive breakdowns

I’ve been saying retool and think Johnny should go first. Not that he’s been the worst of the bunch but he might bring best return and I don’t think he will age well. Can’t see him being good in his mid 30s

But they way Tkachuk is playing I don’t think I want to give him 9.

Monahan seems done

Gio isn’t very good anymore

Seems like too many players make sense to move. Might need to be a rebuild

Backlund is close to being done too.

Maybe just a big retool. Hahaha. I think Gaudreau is the first domino.

Easier thing to do is make a list of who you would keep. Bet it’s a short list.

And as I posted earlier in the thread:

In the 10 games since coming back (not including tonight which will make his numbers much worse), on top of Salim's tweet above, among 56 goalies who've played at least 4 games, Markstrom ranks (at 5v5):

- 47th in SV% (.899)
- 46th in GSAA/60 (-0.53/60)
- 38th in HDSV% (.792)
- 30th in average goal distance (20.48)

Overall this season, Markstrom has been poor. Since returning from injury, he's been horrible.
You need to take into consideration the goals themselves and not just the stats.

I agree he hasn't been lights out since coming back and stealing games like he did before getting injured but the team is also playing alot worse too and is not only giving up too many chances but not giving him any goal support.
