I'm a pure android version guy myself. So if Samsung, HTC and the others are going to make their own phones with their own touches, and also release the stock firmware versions, I'll be a happy camper.

As long as the nexus is roughly half the price of these other stock android phones, not a chance.

I've never had any issues with Nova. I'm using the paid version though.

"Nexus Experience" HTC One.

Does this count as a "Nexus" device? I couldn't help but notice that HTC has branded it as such.

I don't think it really counts as what was traditionally Nexus as it's more on the tier of the Galaxy S4 that will be for sale on Google Play as well in June.

IE: Higher end consumer phones with stock Android experience (and regular Android updates).

The Nexus line is usually stand-alone and a lower-cost (subsidized) tier.

Posting this article because someone was wondering..

Quote:
At I/O, Google rolled out the first of its "Google Edition" smartphones with a Galaxy S4 running stock Android instead of Samsung's TouchWiz skin. Today, Sundar Pichai announced a Google Edition HTC One, once again with stock Android. But according to Pichai, Google's not done with dedicated Nexus phones. "The idea with Nexus is to push on hardware as well," he told Walt Mossberg at this week's D11 conference, "so that will continue." Pichai denied that Google was "done" with Nexus devices, though he said the company would continue to partner with phone makers to promote its stock Android software on other devices.

We haven't seen new Nexus hardware since last year, when the Asus-made Nexus 7, Samsung-made Nexus 10, and LG-made Nexus 4 were all announced. There's no word on what the next device might be, but at least it's now clear that the current generation won't be the last.
Unlike the S4 and the HTC One coming out with a "nexus" experience the Nexus line of products will still continue. Google works with there partners in house for these devices so it shouldn't be a surprise they'll go on.

The S4 and the HTC One are hardware that is built solely by Samsung and HTC. They've added the pure Android software after, for those that want it. In the case of Nexus devices Google has people from LG, Asus, Samsung previously etc working in house with people from Google to develop these.

So yeah, they'll keep going.

Spoiler for BIG picture because I wanted you guys to see all the detail in it. Uses 4 colours: black carbon, red carbon, white vinyl and yellow vinyl.

Spoiler!

As well, here are the mock-ups they sent me to choose from:

I only got the one skin. The first one pictured.

$60. This includes shipping. It should be arriving this Friday.

I've heard some customs can range in price from $25 to $120. Depends on what you want and how complex it is.

Haha! I've been assured by dbrand that my custom is one of a kind and won't be sold to anyone else.

That being said, how cool would that look on a black jersey!?!

Everyone is excited about the coming Nexus 7 sequel, even Best Buy by the looks of this sales circular. We don't get a very good press image of the upcoming tablet, but we've seen that already so we can focus on the details instead. This ad mentions a 1920 x 1200 screen, 16GB of storage, and the same $230 price we reported last week.

It's worth noting that it also says available Tuesday, but we have to remember there is a Tuesday in every week. This doesn't necessarily mean the day after tomorrow, and likely refers to Tuesday July 30, which is a few days after Google's big event in California coming this week. Without knowing the exact distribution date of this flyer, there is a bit of speculation involved.

Good price. I have a Nexus 7 and love it. My wife needs one too - I'll see if there is a significant price drop on the current Nexus 7 and just get her that once this new one is released. We still rock an iPad 1 as well (kids mainly use it)...the latest and greatest tablets don't get me any more excited than the original versions.

I would totally get one of these at this price when released. Very impressed.

I just discovered the Little big planet feature of photosphere... pretty darn neat if you don't mind looking like a tool for 60 seconds.

I'm loving my Nexus 4 so far! I do wish the speaker was a little better, but I'm surprised at how good the phone is. I miss my Galaxy S3 less than I anticipated.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

In a few short hours Google’s Sundar Pichai, head of Android and Chrome, will officially unveil the refreshed Nexus 7 and show all the updated features of OS 4.3. Although both of these have been heavily leaked online, or in the case of the Nexus 7 already up for pre-order from Best Buy USA, we’ll hopefully see some other Android news. If you want to follow along your can watch the live stream via Google’s YouTube channel. We’ve embedded the link below and the event will start at 12pm ET/9am PT.
