That's kind of a jarring tyop in the thread title. I know the guy's name is Graham, but every time I see ‘Gharam’ I think of garam masala, and wonder why an Indian spice blend would be coaching a hockey team.

At one of the camps at WinSport, Gully took the time to hang around after a scrimmage to sign autographs for the kids and take pictures. He talked them up, asked them about school/playing hockey- long after the other coaches and management had gathered in the conference room. I was really impressed, he's a class act.

But one can also be a very nice person and also astonishingly bad at their job.

Man NHL GM's never cease to amaze. Crazy hire. He's a really nice guy but doesn't command respect as an NHL head coach. What did Nill see out of his two years in Calgary that led him to this conclusion?

That's legitimately bewildering. He's flopped at every stop of his HC gigs. Being an assistant in Edmonton for 8 years does not make him HC worthy.

Oilers had 4 chances to promote him to HC during that time, and passed. For the last two hires, they picked their AHL coach and Connor's junior coach, rather than offer it to him.
