It’s why Lanny is a Flame and not a Leaf. He won it here.

Lanny also stuck around and became an unofficial figurehead for the team. If he would have retired in Toronto and became affiliated with them post-career (as MacInnis did in St. Louis), he would probably be remember more as a Leaf.

So what I'm reading in the last four threads is that the off-ice stuff is very important when voting for Mt Rushmore players. People can't forgive MacInnes for "identifying" as a Blue, but can forgive Theo for spreading dangerous misinformation.

Regehr was terrific.

I don't remember exactly what Sutter said (paraphrasing), but in Game 7 '04 Regehr was basically playing on 1 leg and it would have been better for the Flames if they had lost Game 6 in Regulation (it was in) as Regehr injuring himself cost the Flames the cup.

Iginla in the Washington slot, give Macinnis the Jefferson, Lanny with the Teddy spot because of the stach match, and Kipper could be an easy swap on to Lincoln imo! It fits well.

I didnt vote for MacInnes because i see him as a Blue as much as a Flame. But then again he was a Flames longer than Gretzky was an Oiler and there is no doubt Wayne is On the Oilers Mt.Rushmore. I change my vote to Chopper

That team probably doesn’t change much if you do it today. If you were to pick the B team after that could be kind of interesting.

Although an off ice Rushmore would be fun. I think we see some debate on that.
