I like Quine, he'll be back.
Great depth for the playoffs.

People are seriously believing Quine was sent down because of one mistake or because of his demeanor after?

Mangiapane is waiver exempt for the rest of this season or 143 NHL games played.
Lomberg is waiver exempt for this season and next or 49 NHL games played.

I buy the idea that with the 9 game stint, team plans saw him going to be sent down. And his reaction on the bench could very well have been a “f me, I can’t believe I just did that in my last game up”
I do agree with your idea of rotating callups and keeping them hungry

Keenan was coach in that game. One mistake in first shift what caused a goal and didin't get another change.

Right you are, it was Keenan. Wonder why I thought it was Brent. Felt more recent than that.

I wouldn't be opposed to the Flames taking a flyer on Valentin Zykov. He'd be the team's first Russian forward since Saprykin and he's played for Peters before. Plus, he could pull a Versteeg and embarrass the Oilers.

The Flames appear to have a trend of staying away from Russian players. French Canadians, too.

Idk if that's totally true. It definitely was under Sutter, but they've been drafting more than a few Russians recently. Karnaukhov and now Zavgorodniy come to mind.

But was Zyuzin the last Russian to actually play a game for us? Depending how you classify Babchuk
That’s sort of indicative of a bias. I don’t think late round picks really change that since they are a total crapshoot

Quine has looked great. Would b happy to see him as a regular on the bottom six. Does a lot of little things well. Think he's moved up a lot on the depth chart.

Quine did a great job adding himself to the NHL roster conversation. Seemed to be losing momentum, and that giveaway was pretty brutal but he made his mark when he was here.
Great to get back into the AHL roster, give someone a shot to be the January standout and keep getting peeks at what depth we can start to develop here.

This further confirms what I have been thinking for a while now..
The Flames will add at least one top 9 forward by the TDL, ideally a RH shot.
We have 11 forwards that have played regularly when healthy so there is a spot open and none of the prospects seem quite ready.
Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-_______
Bennett-Jankowski-Neal
Frolik-Ryan-Hathaway
(Sidenote: I just noticed Neal had the most icetime out of all forwards last night - he's gotta get rewarded one of these days)

Has lomberg technically served his suspension?
Could see him being recalled for Saturday.

Yeah, he played vs Tampa after serving his remaining suspension when recalled again.

Unfortunately that was intended to be Czarnik but he hasn’t stuck (yet). If he could get his game turned around and Neal and Bennett start scoring more regularly this would be a really deep team. And while the farm team doesn’t have any future stars there’s great depth ready to step in any time they are needed.

Question for someone who follows farm teams...
Does the Head coach of Stockton try to emulate the same systems as The current systems for the Flames?
If so, Must be quite a big leap to go from Glue gun’s to Peters’
