Bronco man sits right behind the bench in the most expensive seats in the house most nights cheering on whomever is playing against the Flames. He’s an enigma.

I don’t think that’s the only way he gets them. Those guys don’t show up with no tickets and only resell what they buy from fans. Nor would I believe they get all those tickets by keeping an eye on kijiji looking for deals.

And there’s 3 or 4 of those guys there full time. Just seems like way too many tickets that they’d just come by on the cheap.

I suspect he's as full of crap as his hair is full of grease.

It doesn't make logical sense that someone would come all the way down to Vic Park LRT with the intention of coming to a game, but not go five minutes farther to the Saddledome box office if he didn't have tickets available.

Scalpers don't increase demand or attendance. They never have.

I have no doubt about this- Just like Bands (and/or probably promoters) have a stake in all the premium tickets I can never find when trying to buy tickets the morning they go on sale, but front rows are available on Stubhub minutes later.
The ticket industry is very broken

I know 5 season ticket holders (2-4 seats) that sells to him regularly. He'll buy any game off them, even if it's a Wednesday night Minnesota game that's impossible to offload these days. They do it out of convenience because it's easy and reliable.

About 2 weeks ago, The Fifth Estate had a good 30 minute documentary into this whole thing. Link below.

Does he? My wife used to work at a ticketmaster back when you had to line up for concert tickets and apparently Bronco man and another person there had an arrangement where while they were "testing" to see if they could get into the system they would pull a couple pair of the choice seats for some small amount of money (around $40). My wife worked one day when that other person wan't there and Bronco man approached her with the arrangement she told him to piss off. Security ended up getting called and Bronco man was rather salty. Guy is a apparently a prick.

Is this Bronco man the same guy who waits outside of morning skates with a box full of stuff to get autographed?

Lots of teams are actually in on the scalping as they take a cut of what is sold on the inflated re-sale market.

This article is about the Blue Jays, but I believe lots of teams are in the same boat.

https://globalnews.ca/news/4114882/s...nto-blue-jays/

Ten years after Major League Baseball agreed to a deal with online ticket reseller StubHub, the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team has signed on.

The deal will see the team get an unspecified cut of revenue from tickets sold on the platform.

The partnership between the Blue Jays and StubHub, which is owned by eBay, was first announced on March 30, 2017 in a press release.

It was described as “a fully integrated ticketing solution that will enable all Blue Jays Season ticket members, Game Pack holders and single-game ticket buyers to re-sell, purchase and electronically transmit tickets conveniently, safely and securely on the StubHub platform.”

Now, according to a Toronto Star and CBC News investigation, the Blue Jays are set to “receive secret commissions on every ticket sold on StubHub, allowing the club to profit on the scalping of its own seats”.

I like what Vegas did for the playoffs this year. You got a huge discount on your ticket if you give up the right to transfer them. I would suspect it works for them since all their tickets are electronic, but it definitely cut back on the amount of Kings jerseys in the stands.

I had a conversation about this with a guy who scalps in Toronto. He even had a business card and 5 other guys working for him (all in matching jackets). He told me straight up he get tickets from the leafs/jays. Mid conversation a car drove up and his lackey walked over and grabbed an envelope full of tickets (this was Grey cup 100) from the passenger. Must have been 30 tickets in it. It was weird experience, something shifty is happening.
Last year, when the Flames were in Toronto at the ACC, I purchased tickets from Stubhub that for one reason or another didn't work and I couldn't get in to arena. (I was ultimately refunded, plus a $80 voucher from Stubhub).

I was then directed to the head of sales that was working the game and he ended up getting me another set. He asked where I got my tickets and I told him Stubhub, which was surprising to us both, because they are usually very reputable and I have never had a problem with them.

The head sales guy then actually told me that my best bet was with getting tickets from one of the scalpers outside the ACC as they are usually better than most of the sites and they work "with" the Leafs...I was actually fairly surprised he said that.

He's a grade A jerk, family or no family.

Yeah it’s very real. He has employees. And they all wear matching Canada goose jackets. Or at least they did when that was still “cool”... is it still “cool”?

What an underhanded money grab

Are you serious? If you want TML season tix you must ALSO buy Raptors Season tix?? Wow haha I had no idea. I could understand doing with say Argos tix or if the Flames made you buy Stamps tix since they are only a few hundred bucks but Geez Raptors season tickets gotta cost a pretty penny!!

You don’t really. That’s why companies own almost all of them (or so it seems).
