Can't help but think Emile is still on the team if he buries that open net in preseason game 1.

Better be keeping Andersson up still. He made the least atrocious mistakes in the few preseason games.

There isn't a meritocracy here if they're just settling with the two guys that were the default choices to begin with after they've done little to keep those spots. I supposed it's a foregone conclusion that Bartkowski stays given how GG speaks of him, but Kulak should not be a lock at this point.

Of the 3, none really did much to make a case to earn a roster spot with the big club.

Cause Wotherspoon has done so much to win a job? Really disappointed in both Kulak and Spoon IMO. Both have been given ample opportunity to win a job and neither has ever taken it and ran with it.

Personal opinion but I doubt any of these players will make it in the NHL. Just AHL fodder.

Vegas could have had him already in the expansion draft.

If they liked one of Calgary's waiver eligible young guys they surely would have taken them over Engelland.

Good point. Fans always get up in arms when prospects are waived, especially former high draft picks. Fact is, every team has a couple of these same guys in the same situation every year. Teams aren't chomping at the bit to exchange one cast off for another.

Neither of these players waived would be detrimental if the Flames lost them anyway.

Have to admit I'm worries about Poirier. The rest it doesn't matter to me what happens.

We knew at the time that the Granlund/Shinkaruk trade was a bit of a boom or bust scenario...and we'll clearly it's been a bust for us. But I would've taken the same chance, and I'd probably do it again in another circumstance.

I kind of wish someone would just claim Wotherspoon. It would be best for everyone for him to move on.

I'm expecting all of them to clear though.

Hometown Vegas boy is a nice story for a new franchise. And Engelland is a very serviceable vet who can provide leadership for a new team. Intangibles.

Calgary's waiver eligible young guys aren't a Las Vegas resident. C'mon... they didn't choose Engellend for on ice reasons.

Dude he's 22. Some guys take longer to develop. I would give it 2-3 years to see if he's really a bust or not.

If anyone is claimed from waivers at this point they have to be placed on that teams active roster correct?

If that's the case I don't see any fear in any of these 3 getting claimed

Does anyone recall if Andersson played anytime with Stone in the preseason?

I half hope somebody claims Kulak and Wotherspoon so we can stop being disappointed in them consistently failing to grab opportunities.

No, but Granlund is a decent winging whose just breaking out. I would have rather we kept him, instead of having guys Bouma, etc for our 4th line.

I'd love to see what he could do with another Organization. I just feel that hes been here so long maybe I cant really see his qualities?

Hes gone through, what? 3 different coaching staffs in Calgary and they've all more or less had the same opinion?

So yeah, time to fish or cut bait.

I had high hopes for Spoon, but now I'm just tired of reading about his inevitable annual cut.
