The Flames are all excited about getting Brouwer to provide size and aggression on the Flames.
The Flames are all about line rushing undersized non-contact forwards.. Brouwer is the antithesis of the Flames game.
You can't win with a full roster of non-contact forwards......
Last year Flames forward > 40 games < 1.0 hit /game 5 ... Raymond would have been 6
Last year Duck's forward > 40 games < 1.0 hit /game 2 ... Hagelin was 1 .. Raymond will make it 2 if he makes the team.
There is no line possibility with the Ducks where Raymond will not have 2 more aggressive players as line mates. On the Flames it was pretty hard not to have Raymond make a soft line even softer.
This gives Raymond as good of a chance for success as he could have hoped for..... in the same manner as the Flames roster-wise were the worse fit for him.
The year where Raymond "earned" his 3x3M deal with the Flames his main linemates were Kadri and Clarkson and Lupul all above the 1 hit/game line.
In 2009-10 where Raymond got 25 goals 53 pts -- linemate was Kesler 76% of the time.
