50% retained salary. And according to GF, they still have 4.8 left in cap to work with and no LTIR. They do appear to be at the 50 contract limit though, so if they plan on doing anything else, people need to move.

What's the rangers cap at now? Even adding a 4 mil Staal has to bring them pretty close. If they plan on making any moves, they might need to make a trade to shed salary.
Any chance they move Hayes?

Oh ok, didn't see the updated thread title. That makes more sense.

^ yeah according to GF now, it's only 497k in cap. not 4 + million. I must have caught them while they were updating. I saw Staal on their roster but they hadn't adjusted their cap yet.

per Ren Lavoie, Staal was only willing to waive NTC for Rangers

Haven't heard of the prospect. Not a great return for a once franchise player. Rangers are going to be a tough out in the playoffs. Wonder if the Caps will make a move?

Or one-third, if you subtract Nash. Nasty bone/bruise injury in January and he's still week-to-week.

But 2 2nds and a good prospect is worth more than a 1st anyway.
Whether you paid $100, or $100 worth of gold, or $100 worth of bread, the price was still $100

Hudler is more productive and he gets half the return.
This league is wack.
(and yes, I know Staal has more desirable traits)

The Rangers' window is maybe 1-2 more seasons. Then they're going to crash, and crash hard.

I dunno, Erixon helped get them Nash so he wasn't a complete waste for them.

Erixon was traded for Kessel too... Seems like he's the guy no one wants around.

Incorrect. That line was Nash-Crosby-Iginla.
