A wild card might distort things significantly. I wouldn't be shocked if we see another run of goalies in the 30's again like last year. The goalies this year are very comparable to the ones last year and most of the teams with those picks need goalies.
Buffalo (31), Arizona (32), Edmonton (33), Carolina (35), New Jersey (36 + 41), and San Jose (38) all have lack luster prospects in their system and not that good of goalies in the NHL either, except NJ and maybe Carolina. There are 3 or 4 good ones between Booth, Blackwood, Samsonov and Montembeault.
Last year, goalies went at 34, 36, 37, and 39.

great post,
i like the odds that one of, carlo, chabot, kylington, roy, or larsson, will still be on the board at 45. particularly if 4-5 goalies are taken before then.

You forgot Vladar and Tomek, who seem pretty good too. That is certainly an exciting possibility. I'm definitely hoping one of Jeremy Roy, Oliver Kyllington, Jeremy Bracco, Brandon Carlo, Noah Juulsen, Jack Roslovic, Tomas Novak is there at 45 and a string of goaltender selections would raise that possibility significantly.

Mackenzie Blackwood for me. Number 1 ranked NA goalie. Monster size with great agility and quickness.
None of the forwards standout at 45. Some of these names will still be there at 52 or 53. Just in case Gillies or Mcdonald does not pan out
Hoping Bracco, Carlo, Kylington or Sprong fall to 45.

Adding Blackwood would sure give the Flames quite the stable of higher end monster sized goalie prospects.

Tomec (G) is a sleeper with huge upside who is committed to North Dakota.
Lots of time to develop there. Will be a very good pick in the 45 range.

I think 7 choices was limiting the possibilities at this pick.
I choose 'other' and went with Ryan Pilon

Mentioned this in another thread.. with the Flames taking Mason MacDonald last year I can't see them taking one this year but I wouldn't be at all against Mackenzie Blackwood being selected by the Flames sometime in the 2nd round, big fan of his.
After round two I'd like to see 1F 3D taken or 1F, 2D, 1G.

Should we call this one? Another decisive win for the leader.
