I believe in the Jays.

Peyton has been cleared to play, but he is still not 100%. From what I've read the nerves in his arm haven't fully healed/regenerated and while playing will not injure him further, he is still unable to throw a ball like he used to. It is still an unknown whether or not he can actually play at the NFL level again. At least that is my understanding of it.
In terms of my own team, the Texans, it will be very interesting to see what we are able to do with Mario Williams. We basically cannot franchise him because he had a huge salary last year due to a back-loaded contract, making his tag likely to be in the 20 mil range. We either sign him long term or he walks for nothing.

I'm still not going to put any stock into any of the Manning "reports' that come out by the media. They've been proven wrong time and time again. The hearsay is a little bit too much.

He looked pretty good in the NE game, didn't follow him this year to know how he did overall but I think it will always come down to whether he needs the money or not.

Apparently Bill Parcells sent him a text asking him how he was doing, where Ricky said he was feeling great and ready for next season already.
Parcells texted back telling him to not chase this too much longer, that he can do other good things in life.
So, in Williams usual fashion, he retired that same day.
He'll be back, but goes to show you how impressionable he still is by authority figures such as Parcells who had him in MIA, and if one's seen the documentry on Williams, I guess its not that hard to believe.

What amazed me by reading more and more about Ricky was that he truly does love Sports and the game of Football. His passion is just much different then the usual athlete's or fans. Quite an interesting human being with a very kind heart. I hope we still get to hear about him and from him, if this is indeed the end of his football career.

"It's marked (improvement) from where he was back in September," Polian said. "He threw it accurately, he threw it with a good, tight spiral, and he threw it with velocity.
"Generally, he looked like a pretty confident quarterback out there."
Polian also indicated that Manning was able to make a variety of throws and throw across his body.

"I haven't watched him the last few weeks, but I did see him at the end of the season," Vinatieri said during the interview. "He was developing nicely. Was he quite all the way back yet? No, probably not. Not to his standards.
"But he definitely is not that far off."

It blows my mind how incompetent and story hungry the NFL media is. The crap coming out the last few weeks has ranged from Rob Lowe, to a "member of the Manning family to someone he throws with, to someone close to the situation. He's going retire, he can't throw to one side of the field exc. exc.
What boggles my mind is how one article, sentence or source comes out and says one thing and it takes on a life of it's own. And I also had to deal to wake up to this beautiful line by Jay Glazer today "NFL Expert"

Glazer said that the Jets would make sense because they have a lot of pressure to grab headlines in New York. Glazer thinks that Mark Sanchez could use some pressure behind him.

Peyton Manning is a good fit, because he would help motivate Mark Sanchez with some pressure behind him? Really Glazer? Reeealllllllly?!

LOL. Mark Sanchez's problem isn't that he has no pressure behind him. His problem is that he isn't a very good quarterback.

If the Eagles don't sign and/or draft some LB's I am going to be pissed. But knowing Andy Reid, he will draft a DE.

Well we drafted LBs last year. They just weren't very good. Matthews was awful and I really hope he's gone this year. I thought Rolle played well and showed promise, but he's really only a nickel LB at this point. I still like Chaney, but Fokou can piss off. The problem this year is that there aren't too many stud LBs in the draft.
The Eagles have had pretty unmemorable LBs for as long as I can remember. I liked Bradley and Trotter but that's about it.

There some good LBs in the draft this year, leaders too. The Eagles need some sort of Brian Dawkins type leader on D.

Jay Glazer has never been a bright man, but I have a hard time trying to even understand what type of hard drugs this man could be on to say something like that. Of all the options Peyton Manning would have, he'd choose to go to New York and back up Mark Sanchez to "motivate" him. Could you imagine Peyton Manning with his arms crossed watching Sanchez throw from the sideline? Manning face 500 times a season if that was ever to happen.

Not to mention how stupid Rex Ryan would have to be to start Manning over Sanchez. As far as I'm concerned, I think there are only 4-5 teams that wouldn't take Peyton over their starting QB right now. Hell, I'd happily jettison Vick if I could be guaranteed that Manning would play at a high level for another 2-3 years.

It has been quite a week for Mike Sullivan, the long-time assistant for the New York Giants. In the span of six days he has earned the two most coveted things for any coach in the National Football League: A Super Bowl Championship ring and the next great challenge.
On Friday evening, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the hiring of Sullivan as their offensive coordinator under new Head Coach Greg Schiano. Sullivan, the Giants’ quarterbacks coach, was still basking in the glow of New York’s 21-17 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday.
