I really like Chinakhov- he’s had some injury issues, but he was trending up before the season. With a change of scenery, he could pop.

Yeah I think Kypreos was just trying to connect some dots.
Kadri would be open to it, could fill a need for the Habs, and they're a pretty good trading partner for the Flames for what they could offer back.

He would certainly add speed and skill to the lineup. There would have to be a winger going the other way, is he an upgrade on:
Huberdeau
Zary
Coronato
Coleman
Farabee
Sharangovich

Yeah, not a lot of room for a winger here- I just meant in general.

I'm not talking A lister like Parekh or Reschny. I'm talking somewhere from Honzek to Potter level.

The Blue Jackets bizarrely selecting the previously undrafted/overage Chinakhov, ranked by most 4th-round or later (if at all), 21st-overall did produce one of the better draft moments in recent memory with Sportsnet basically cutting to commercial having no graphics or video of the player. Still puzzled CBJ didn't trade down but yes takes two to tango.

There's a bunch of there with potential, which is why they would be acceptable trade pieces for another team.

Draft Pick
|
I want to believe that Conny remains active in trying to solve some roster issues. But I feel like I'm hoping against my better judgment at this point.
Historically aside from the Lucic trade, I cant think of any other major trade that the Flames have completed in the middle of the summer. It's just not something we really ever see often if at all.
It feels like the market quickly bottomed out on a Ras trade. Essentially its forced Conny to sit back and let other GM's initiate discussions to try and maintain some leverage. It just doesn't sound or feel like we have any motivated buyers out there aside from Dallas at this time. If thats the case, maybe the deadline would be a better option. We need a frenzied market if we want the return that everyone around here dreams of.

I kinda sucks that the Blue Jackets had a lot of faith in this player and took him early and now he wants to get out. I suppose different GM
