i love the people with gold boosts. because at this point in the game it means they are playing under their potential. while the boost packs can be an economical advantage, they quickly get overrun by the boosts+cards.
i agree the equipment mostly looks horrid, but i think we are getting to the point where prety much everyone has it, so its nullified. plus, from what i hear, theres a way to transfer cards and equipment to other accounts. so a bunch of people could combine together and buy all the crap and then share it.

So I have to get super pissed if we lose to make the pro team? I hate losing as much as anyone on this team, but sometimes the other team is just that much better...and I'm not going to lose sleep over a win or loss. So because of that I'm religated to casual?I also think that the standards you've set to make the pro team are kind of silly. I know there are at least 2 guys on the pro team who don't fit the standards. I also know that if I'm playing on the casual team, it's going to be extremely tough to improve, especially when you're a player who plays strictly D. I don't put alot of points on the board, so thats certainly going to kill any chance of making this B+ standard you've set. I really don't see a ton of guys joining the pro team this year with those standards. I think most of them are going to be by invite or by try out.Ahh well...I'm just frustrated because I can't enjoy the game the way I used to. I enjoyed playing with the guys on the pro team and looked forward to it, and now because of these two divisions, the luster has kind of come off NHL 10. I don't want to get stuck playing with some bad players who don't care what happenes, and yet I'm not good enough to make the next team...so I'm kinda stuck...DOH!!!

spike, we understand your angle. the GM's have debated these issues for weeks in an effort to be as fair as possible. but fact of the matter is, there is a small core of players that invests a lot of hours in this game. and we have pretty much come to the conclusion we want to try and put the most competitive version of our team on the ice. its tough as we are still trying to do it in the open environment of the fatas.
and as far as playing with everyone, i understand that mroe than anyone. some of my favorite NHL games were early last year with guys like russic and whitetom (where did he go!!?!?!?) when we would laugh about until we cried. we usually lost like 10-1 with a manual goalie, but it was fun. one of the ideas the GM's have talked about is having multiple accounts so we can easily jump in with the casual team.
there honestly is no perfect solution here. trying to balance an open fun environment with a serious competitive one has proven to be difficult.

This is something we understand as well which is what leaves the tryout spot open so even if players don't have the grade and +/- requirements, if GMs see the player better then his stats indicated due to being in unfavorable games (after all, it is a team game), the player can still be promoted if he impresses well enough in the tryout game.

I was about to recommend this for anyone who doesn't have the time to unlock everything. On PS3 you can share psn games(and in this case boosts) on up to 5 systems. I do this with a group of friends for rockband songs.

Congrats. You won't have to go through an tryout game and you'll just be invited to the club right away.
You will have to drop from the AHL club first, then send off an invite to the pro club in order for the invitation to be accepted.

Got one already. The official PS3 ones.
I tested it.

i believe there is a setting in the XMB somewhere that at least gives you some flexibility as far as mic sensitivity.

I'm a B right now, maybe a B plus, and I don't have my vet card either, but I want you to toss out all your criteria and give me a tryout.
My connection problems seem to have vanished.

Happy birthday dobbles!
And Flash definetly deserves to be on the pro team, I don't think he should need to get his vet card before he can play with you guys.
