Look in the PGT, not the ENG?
But do it a little later.

I pulled this from the ATL

We'll always be mediocre with our current goalie situation, here's to hoping Stalock being the shining star we need in net.

No. Not even career journeyman Alex Stalock can save the Oilers.
No one can.
No one.
Edmonton is no good.

Here I thought waiver wire pick-ups were a sure bet to improve the quality of your team! Then again, it is the Oilers, so that might be the case...

Ok this belongs over here.
Quoting a response from the PGT regarding Oil fans upset at McDavid not drawing a tripping penalty.

Absolutely pathetic and the reason why McDavid doesn't deserve the respect I'd usually have for an elite player of his skill.
Plus the fact that he refuses to play a 200' game and benefit his team on both ends of the ice.
Guy has all the tools in the world but plays like a current Oiler should.

Lucic has 532 career points to McDavid’s 522. Plus a ring.
I think that speaks for itself.

It's amazing the take Oilers fans have on the Khaira-Ritchie fight.
This gem had to be shared:
Quote:
But the fight itself was a stupid, staged, fight and the “answer the bell” mantra is outdated, especially on a hit that wasn’t malicious
|
This from the same fan group that deemed Tkachuk a turtle for protecting himself when attacked from behind by a lunatic, and demanded that he answer the bell for his clean hits.
Most of them don't even see anything wrong with Khaira's hit on Kylington, and think Kylington should have protected himself better.
So much delusion.

I’m waiting for staples, Maclean, and the rest of the cheerleaders to propose that the only way to properly referee the grievous bodily attacks on McAvi will be to have McAvi himself referee the oilers games.
I’m thinking that McAvi gives the Flames 2 minutes for tripping and gives himself a 9.5 so that the Canadian Olympic team calls him up. You can’t get enough individual awards.

It wasn’t even staged. Ritchie wanted it and Khaira agreed, but Monahan legit got tossed from the faceoff and Ritchie was chirping the whole time. Staged is more like longer prearrangement between two tough guys.

E=NG IX: Maximum Squanderdrive!
This time, right now, is peak McDerpsaitl which means that in the next few coming seasons, while they will remain great offensively, McDavid and Draisaitl will decline. In turn, that means that unless the Oilers accomplish something, anything in the playoffs, they will have squandered the best years of two of the best offensive players the game has ever seen. Here's are some numbers:
McDavid is currently a career 1.37ppg player. That is incredible. If you elimate his rookie season where he was only slightly above 1ppg, he is a 1.41ppg! This season, playing in the butter-soft North division, featuring Ottawa, Vancouver, and until recently, the Geoff Ward Flames he is clocking in at 1.71ppg! Insane!
Draistaitl is just over a 1ppg career player since he got started slower. If you look at this season, and the two before it when he really hit his stride he is 1.42ppg player. This season he is even a little better at 1.48ppg. Outrageous!
Together McDerpsaitl runs at 3.19ppg!
For comparison during their heyday from 1995-1996 to 1998-1999 Paul Kariya was 1.51ppg player playing along Teemu Selanne who was clocking in at 1.33ppg over that same time. Combined that is 2.84 ppg, well below McDavid and Drasaitl.
What happend to Selanne and Kariya after 1998-1999? Kariya finished his career at exactly 1ppg, and Selanne (who started with a rookie season consisting of 82gp, 76goals, and 56a!) finished a career 1.004ppg player.
The greatness doesn't last forever. So while Oilers fans may crow about how dominant McAvi and Raisaitl are, everyone else just gets to sit back and watch it all go waste. Couldn't happen to a better organization.
Edmonton is No Good!

The thought I have is that the Connor is a very talented player, he's high speed high risk. I don't think he's particularly innovative or creative, 90% of his plays are go wide take a sharp angle shot.
As much as Oiler fans think he's become a stud two way player now. He's gone from trainwreck without the puck to merely a 10 car pileup player without the puck.
the fear factor is what happens to Connor when he loses a bit of that speed and goes from incredible to merely high end speed. Unless he's willing to evolve his game, he'll be that guy that goes to be one night as a 50 100 player and wakes up as a 30 80 player making 12 or more million bucks a year.

By the time McDavid’s speed declines to the point that he’s not at an advantage over everyone on the ice, I dunno, around 31, I’m sure he’ll have enough of a book on the entire league to be ridiculously effective.
His vision at high speed is remarkable.

If a player is placed on IR, while suspended, do the missed games count towards the suspension, or is the suspension served once recalled?

Kassian back in tomorrow. I’d assume he wants to have a go with Ritchie right? I think it’s a step up from Khaira but I think Ritchie will be able to handle Kassian
