Great stamina, but there is room in the game for walking/standing around. A lot of the exertion comes in bursts. Like interval training.

While true, I dont think you're going to see too much quality play after the first 120 minutes anyways.
Fun fact: Using this stat gathering technology the tracked the distance ran by Berbatov once and he was outran by everyone on the pitch, including the linesmen and both goalkeepers, while playing for United.
Solid buy Fergie. Solid buy.

Damn that's too bad about Drogba. A premiere player lost from the tournament.

Well, Portugal fans may as well start rejoicing, that Drogba injury basically just punched their ticket to the round of 16. And Portugal weasels through again.

You discount North Korea? Best defensive record in the world during qualifying

Really? The Dutch only allowed 2 goals the whole time, how many did Korea allow? I dont think Korea is going to go through no.
Brazil will get through, they may not win their group as they tend to start pretty slow, but they'll get through.
That leaves 1 spot for 3 teams. I see an Ivory Coast with no Drogba or Essien and North Korea, who, while defensively stingy, might not be able to score all that often against some pretty stiff competition. So, yeah, in my eyes this sends Portugal through.

I was half-joking about that. North Korea allowed 7 goals in 18 matches during qualifying.

Ok, sorry, I dont even pay attention to Asian qualifying. Whichever Asian teams shows up to World Cup, then I pay attention, other than that, I dont particularly care about how they got there because there is very little comparibility.

Above you said, POrtugal will weasel thru again?? Exactly when did they weasel thru in the past?? I don't get what you were trying to say.

They weaseled through into the World Cup at all. After a qualifying campaign like that I'd have rather had Sweden there.
Essien is out, but he doesnt play for the Ivory Coast, my bad, dont follow the African teams. Doesnt bode well for the African teams at any rate.

Jesus VFF, you seem to have a gigantic chip on your shoulder.
Portugal barely squeaked into the WC, and this injury to Drogba is huge for Ivory Coast. Pretty much punches Portugal's ticket to the Round of 16.
But who knows, maybe Portugal will now think they have an easy road to the Round of 16 (which they do) but then they will proceed to choke it away?
I'd kind of want to see Portugal make it to the Round of 16 to set up a potential match against Spain.

hahah, oh please. The 2006 Holland game was a joke from both sides. The ref never had control of the game and it got stupid. That was a ridiculous game.
I'm not sure what they did in 2004 to say they weaseled their way into the final, but that's your opinion. I thought they got there on merit. The last minute goal by England that was overturned was a foul, I actually watched it again yesterday and Ricardo was not able to make the save. Terry's arm was all over his. You have seen any kind of contact with the keeper called time and time again.

This is getting comical now.
First Pirlo is now questionable with a calf injury.
And now Milito limps off the field in training.
