I think they care, but this team is a result of what happens when you trade big pieces with Toronto, acquire waiver pickups the Islanders didn't want, free agents the Islanders didn't want, guys who have never played in the NHL, old NHL vets who can't get any help, and a mix of middling forwards.
Calgary really needs to make a trade with a playoff team.

Pretty evident that Backlund and Butler were the problems last night.

I realize the grass is greener on everyone else's side of the fence and yes Davidson is a good hockey guy but he had 5 years in St L and they got past the first round once and missed the playoffs 3 times.....and his drafts since 2007 weren't spectacular.

They know as well as we do the season is done, they are playing the same way they did right before Darryl was canned, but with a staggering lack of team defence.
The players are just waiting for some to shake things up.
Do I want to take a hit to get a puck out for a guy who might not even be here in 2 days?
Do I want to ruin my iron man streak by getting toa loose puck in the corner before Colton gillies?
Do I want to pull a groin stretching to stay onside?
NO.

I didn't want it to happen this way, but Calgary is absolutely sucking.
I think this is the 9th loss in a row on the road. Not quite the consecutive streak of 2009-2010, but it's getting close.
I just hope we don't trade with Toronto. Please god, don't let Feaster make a trade with the Leafs.

I don't understand the idea of shortening the bench when we have to come back. Especially since the only last chance we had was the 4th line who hit the post and the good chance they had the previous shift before that too. What happened after? Oh ya, 3 "scoring" lines were put out only to be scored on 3 times.

Playoff teams don't trade their good players, that's what makes them good teams.

I have been a fan since mid nineties (the dreaded young guns), but this seems like a lower spot than then - the young guns sucked and were a cheap team... these guys have so much more potential, and the cap hits we have are way over priced for the results. I can justify the o-fer in California, but losing to Nashville and CBJ are too much.
I want these guys to do well, but something is broken and needs to be fixed.

Grass is greener? I don't see any grass on the Flames side of the fence. Only rubble and tombstones of coaches.
