I also drove back from Banff tonight, well Kelowna actually, had the cruise pegged at about 125 so maybe i passed you
For me for the most part i don't care about people speeding, as long as they que up like everyone else and wait til its safe to pass. probably 99% of the speeders fit in this category and you would rarely take notice of them. It's the 1% of speeding donkeys drivers(ty phil hellmuth) out on the roads which pisses everyone else off at the speeders. The type who are cutting in and out of traffic, making unsafe passes, undertaking(unless they really deserve it
) On our trip today of the 100s of cars who sped with/passed us there were 2 of these donkeys.
First one, hereby known as stupid broad, came up on me driving probably between 140-150 in her stupid POS Echo, the very first thing she does is throw on her left blinker and starts sticking her nose out over the double solid lines trying to get past. 3 or 4 times she starts to pass and realizes she has no chance in hell of getting by in her Echo so slams on the breaks to get back in line. Of course as soon as she's in line she starts weaving back and forth. Finally we come to a passing lane and she boots it by everyone and thats the last we see of her for awhile.
Second one, hereby known as dumb ass, comes up on us in his stupid POS Civic(80s) as we're coming down from the Rogers Pass behind a gravel truck(snowed there this weekend) into Golden. I notice as soon as he gets around the guy behind me he's a donkey. Almost the entire time he's behind he's riding on the center line spewing up so much gravel on the guy behind me it's ridiculous. Finally he gets around me and pulls up right behind a semi, riding the semis ass and spraying rock all over the place from riding the line. I guess the semi finally got pissed off at this guy riding his ass because when we came to the next place the guy could pass at the semi slid over to the left on to the center stripe and the dumb asses car disappeared in a cloud of gravel. After about 10 seconds of this the semi slids back over and the guy boots it by him, the sander and a moving van all at once staying on the wrong side of the road through a corner.
Anyways about 5 clicks further down the road we end up slowing way down. I'm still behind the semi so don't really see whats going on, then I see some cop lights and someones pulled over. I start laughing because i assumed it was dumb ass booting it down the road, however, as we got closer we could clearly see it was not him. It must have been his lucky day because stupid broad(from above), is the lucky one who took the ticket from him, the Fiance and myself were howling in laughter at her getting whats coming to her.
Fast forward 2 hours, just outside of Banff, dumb ass pulls up behind me again, must have made a pit stop in Golden or something. Anyways the same antics get repeated and we finally reach the divided highway and he's off weaving through traffic til he gets some open road, then boots it.
About 5 clicks up the road, once again there is the police lights flashing, sure enough, there is dumb ass, pulled over on the side of the road pocketing what i am sure was a hefty fine. This of course triggers another round of laughter from us. Anyways long story short, it was just nice to see that Karma was being a b**** out there tonight.
