That's some pretty bad math.

Flames are .471 with a win tonight. Only three teams could be behind them at night's end.

It is when you get up at 3am and I am fan of the eastern games when they hit for me at 5p. And, I like to text my boys who live in the east who watch the games with me, so it limits my time with them too.

Wills just tweeted that Wolf gets the start (sorry can't embed from here)

Also mentioned Hunt & Pachal stayed after the optional skate to do some work, makes me wonder if Backlund is back in?

It cracks me up that you have a dozen posters knickers in a constant twist and half of what you post is straight facts.

I fear this will play out just like the ending of Jaws. SJ have talent but are far from put together as a team.

It's out of our control though. And the local monastery told us we need to get better at accepting reality and drop all of our resistance and objections.

Well, best start tonight..
Inhale for four.. wooosah.

It is impossible (mathematically) for the Flames to have the same or more points than 9 teams after tonight. So unless facts has a different meaning than what I always thought it did (something that is true) it is impossible for the Flames to be tied under any weird definition for 10th last after tonight.

I did the math wrong, it is tied for 9th last and not 10th in that scenario.

I apologize.

I’ll bet you $1000 to a charity of our choosing that, if they win tonight, they’ll be no higher than 28th place.

Rhett's math is wrong but I don't know how you can argue the Flames climb up the standings. In October, they were last in the league by a good distance and on pace for a historically bad season. Last 20 games they are playing at a 98 point pace and look a lot like last year's team.

I know they will be lower because of games played. The thing is though, those teams have to actually win those extra games for that to matter.

And there are a lot of mid to bad teams that are not winning much lately.

Good distance = 2 points (as of October 31).

2 points behind the 30 and 31 place Blues and Sharks (now 1 and 5 points)

3 points behind Minnesota (now 13 points)

4 points behind Nashville (now 1 ahead)

5 points behind Buffalo, Florida, NYI, and Toronto (now 2, 6, 3, and 11)

They don’t. Not all of them at least.

Winnipeg could lose both those games by any score.

The rest could lose both those games as long as they get to overtime in one of them.

Put regulation losses on the board for all those teams, games being the same, and the best we could be is 25th (8th worst).

Lots of cookie to crumble yet!

Straight facts that were proven wrong already lol. The thing about facts is they are right or wrong not an opinion. Flames wont be 22nd after tonight. Not to mention points %%

Calgary missing Backlund but SJ missing Eklund and Smith.SJ playing a first gamer in Chernishov (and looks like he's playing with Celebrini so expect a first goal), plus another callup on the 4th line. SJ also benching Leddy and Dickson for youth so I think Calgary ends up winning this one.

Well it is still wrong because of tiebreakers both games played and ROW. So it is just all around incorrect.

It is also contingent on the Blue Jackets losing tonight in regulation and the Hawks losing tonight in regulation. So those things have to happen for the Flames to possibly be in a 5 way tie for the 5th worst points total in the league and the 5th worse win percentage solo after tonight.

Oh my bad. Well thankfully i said he's right just half of the time.

Regardless, we'll pass teams with a W. Not ideal.. to some of us

Not only are the Flames playing much better and climbing the standings, their goal differential has improved. Six teams have a worse goal differential and that number keeps growing. On November 1, they had the fewer points, lowest points percentage and worst goal differential in the league.

The team I see on the ice doesn’t look anything like the worst team in the league.
