Do you like Phillips quite a bit more than Boltman at the same age?
Seems like at the very least, Phillips has a better natural toolbox and drive.

I truly never understood the Boltmann pick, and why we picked him so early. I saw no upside there. At least with Phillips, he has a use- and I like him even more after seeing him play in training camp. There's a lot for him to work on, and he'll need an extra-long runway, but he could end up being a punishing, intimidating, bottom-pairing D in the NHL someday.

Phillips had zeroes, but was +1 in a 6-2 win over Omaha. 13gp/1g/3a/4pts,+5, 62 PIM. The Green Bay Gamblers are 6th in the East (out of 8 teams), and tied for 7th-overall (out of 16 teams), as the Western teams are very weak.

All zeroes for Phillips, other than 3 shots, in a 2-1 win over the Chicago Steel. 15gp/1g/3a/4pts,+6, 66 PIM. After a poor start to the season, the Gamblers are 7-1-2-0 in their last 10, occupying the 4th-spot in the Eastern Conference, and are tied for 4th-overall (the West is weak). This, despite being the second-most penalized team in the USHL, with a combined 461 PIM.

Scoring Winger

I would hope that was just a poor start, because they looked horrendous against a half-asleep (and Lawrenceless) Muskegon team early. They didn't even look like they should be in the same league.

Ya, I think they only had like, 10 or 12 shots or something? They were like a midget team playing in the USHL.
EDIT: my mistake, it was NINE shots.
