Bjs only have a 3rd and Calgary's 7th left in this year's draft

The 4th and 7th Rd picks from Columbus to Rangers for McQuaid are for this year's draft

So Columbus has their 3rd, and Calgary's 7th left (they conditionally have Pittsburgh's 7th but that won't come to fruition).

That is risky biscuits. I have to imagine that they are planning on moving Bob or Pan for some picks before the draft.

I would assume the BJ's will get a couple 3rds or 4ths for Panarain and Bobrovsky's rights at the draft.

I have often wondered what it would be like if a budget team just did bother with drafting and player development. Trade every pick all the time. Focus on pro scouting and try and make those trades count.

Julius Bergman included in this deal. Poor guy started the training camp in SJ, got traded to Ottawa in Karlsson deal. Got traded to Blue Jackets in Duchene deal. Got traded to Rangers in McQuaid deal.

OFFICIAL: #NYR have acquired defenseman Julius Bergman, a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, and a seventh-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Adam McQuaid.
