He actually doesn't use his speed all that much. Curiously for a small guy, he spends a lot of time along the boards in the offensive zone, and also around the net which is good. When I see him, I think Chuck Kobasew type projection, but Kobasew was a stockier guy, so the added size should help Shinkaruk.

I think Shinkaruk plays a more physical game the Kobasew. I was surprised when he got called up how willing to engage the body he was.

You need to give Bennett those top 6 minutes as he is already developing at a great pace and looks ready.

Agreed. He was really figuring out how to play center in the NHL last year. Let's up his ice time and give him some good wingers.

And you're right, Shinkaruk imo will be on the Flames next year.

For the last time: 'Toronto West' is a pun, a joke referring to Calgary's ongoing turning into Toronto "West", so to speak. I live in Calgary, honestly.

Well it obviously a terrible pun if only you get it...
As per the topic, Backlund centering Frolik and possibly Colborne will be our 2nd line. I expect that if Bennett is going to be centering his own line, he is going to have to earn his icetime by playing effectively in all three zones.

What I'd like to see if things work out, is Shinkaruk with Bennett and our draft pick.

How is Calgary progressively "turning into Toronto"? If you find yourself constantly needing to explain the punchline of your joke, chances are it is a terrible joke.

I'm not sure he's old enough to have learned the definition of pun in school yet.

Then who on the 4th though?
Bouma -Stajan - Ferland?
Bollig and Jooris on the bench
I would love to have Grant or Hathaway on the 4th line but that means Ferland or Stajan moves up to the first line.
