That's got to hurt.

As long as he's not waiving the flag during play, who cares?

That's what I thought too. So he was waving the Flames flag at the Saddledome?? Unless there is a new rule at the Saddledome that you are not allowed to wave a Flames flag, there is got to be something missing in this story. Was he drunk? Was he hitting someone(accidentally) while waving the flag? or was he being obnoxious when they told him not to wave the flag? He says when he asked the usher if he can wave it without the pole he was told it is okay. How many percentage is true in his story? Was it possible that he misunderstood the guy? There are two sides of this story and so far we only read his story.sounds kind of weird though.

Security can be a bit over-zealous...

I have season tickets to the Roughnecks. There's a group of "super fans" there at every home game. When the Roughnecks goalie makes a save, the announcer will call out "What's he got?" And the audience replies with "Nothing!" The "super fans" have a sign that says "Pink Panties" with a pair of pink panties attached. Pretty funny and visible for every home game for the past 3 years that I have been there.

This year security cracked down on the sign...threatening to take it away, coming down to talk to the group each time the sign goes up. Revenge was sweet, after a few games, a bunch of season ticket holder brought little sticks with pink panties attached. When the goalie made a save, there were literally 3-4 dozen pairs of panties being waved around...got to remember that the majority of the people waving the stick were STHs. The old cliche about having the last laugh...

Yeah, I would not be surprised to find out he was waiving it erratically and accidentally hitting people or waiving it after continuation of play.

It just doesn't make sense that an usher would come to him after a goal, then have his boss talk to the guy after the next goal, after that have security show up and then finally have the Flames release a statement backing the actions of their employees.

I would agree that's a possibility, especially after they've been called over to an "incident." What I don't quite understand is why they would have been called in the first place if the man's story is to be believed.

You also don't know the whole story about this. They went back and forth with the Customer Service for a few games and the decision was made to allow the sign as it was a part of the games for many years and it was unfair to the Sec 119 group.

Thanks for filling me on it. That's what I was thinking too. The fact that the sign has been a long term fixture there. Glad to see that Customer Service reacted in a fair manner.

I find the signs or flags very ignorant. During the play or not. Most of the time the flag is always coming down late and I miss part of the game. I also enjoy a lot of the promotions and different things going on between plays that are often blocked by huge signs or flags.

I was saying to my girlfriend that I couldn't imagine how mad I would be if I forked out the 500 dollars to get to go to playoff game and have that stuck in front of me.

As per this story... They asked four times. Clearly he was disrupting someone and was too self-absorbed to notice. Just ignorant
