I was hoping that mango or girlysports or another resident female turned out to be the girl in question here. That would be a great read.

Is it still stealing if you take it from work?
Because I liberate the odd pen, work gloves, welding rods......basically anything useful I can get my hands on.
Note: My company is sort of evil, so in this case I'm a hero?

I was going to mention this. I recall reading somewhere that theft at the workplace is the most widespread. That includes stuff like stationery mostly. As a matter of fact, it could be argued that I'm stealing company bandwidth right now as I'm posting this from work. We all do it in some fashion.
I think most companies account for this and ultimately don't care too much.
She's an idiot for telling you though.

Oil stain has it all figured out. I stay warm during all sorts of outdoor winter chores. Charge it to the game

She says she goes through the self-checkout so the cashiers don't spot the switch around. She says she gets about $10 worth of bulk M&M's for about $2. And she's proud of it! I told her one of these days she is going to get busted and she will regret it. Bloody thief.

You should steal her lunch and swap it for something else. The irony would be sweet like stolen candy.
If you did get caught i can see getting off with a warning because it would be difficult to prove it wasnt an accident. As for those planning on cheating if they ban people taking bulk foods into the self checkout i am going to be pissed

Tell her to buy her pop at the liquor store, then it will all even out and superstore will be whole.

Why is she selling herself short on M&Ms?
I knew someone who did very well by placing a Kool-Aid pack under a package of meat, or whatever else he wanted, and scanned the koolaid barcode instead of the meat.

This thread is useless without pics of the offender, then we can determine the degree of guilt.

That wouldn't work, the bagging part weighs the item, if you scanned kool-aid and put a steak in the bag the hall monitor lady would come over and bust you.
Edit: ^^^^ guilty, yuk

You can also get a good deal if you switch price tags on items you purchase at the store, substituting a higher price tag for a lower one.
You can get an even better deal if you covertly hide the item in a bag or under a jacket, thus eliminating the need to pay at all.
