I'd start with pulling Raymond off the PP, and putting almost anyone else on in place of him.

Hah! My wife came home when it was 3-1 and said "Oh - you're going to be in a bad mood...Flames are losing.". She wanted to watch a movie - I said, no, let's just wait it out and see what happens.

Glad we did! It's kinda crazy though, waiting for 57 minutes for "something" to happen. Then, in 7 minutes of play the entire script changes. Of course, jumping up and yelling "we win!!" at the top of my lungs helped.

Loved the reax of the team and especially Hartley - would have like to see a post-game interview on SN, but I guess they had to jet pretty quick?

That's a bad save pct

It's good that Stoll broke his stick in the second period, with the long change. he couldn't easily get a new one or get off the ice.
These things don't happen in a vacuum.

The Kings "let off", but the Flames started playing with desperation. Early in the game, the Kings dominated, but the Flames "let off"

I keep seeing this narrative that we won because the Kings let the Flames or because they stopped playing. That's just as true as the Flames started pressing the issue

I did exactly that. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw we won. Much less, Johnny with the trick. Had to settle for highlights, though can you blame me?

Did anybody catch Sutter (or moreso read his lips) on the bench after the 2nd goal? It was a beauty, and definately not appropriate for a PG rated thread! Lol

(Might make for a great GIF...)

I realize there are other differences too, but I think the Flames need to step up the desperation on the PP badly.
Who needs a goalie. Let's just play with 6 skaters all the time.

I wasn't trying to downplay the Flames' effort. Sutter was commenting on his own team, and what he said was true about them.

I just keep seeing people blame the Kings for losing though, and I think that's looking at the same half full glass from a pessimistic narrative

Seems like more somehow.
They've tied it three times (and won all three games).

They scored twice with the goalie pulled against New Jersey and Los Angeles and once against Anaheim and Colorado. They were down by two against Anaheim, so the one goal didn't tie it (Gaudreau did score with the goalie pulled in that game but it was ruled kicked-in).

Quick can thank the netting over the end zones for saving him a suspension. Pretty ridiculous to fling his stick over his shoulder blindly

Pretty ridiculous for him to smash it in the first place.

I like Quick and he is a hell of a goalie, but he looked like a phallushead at the end of the game

Oh yea. The goals against are a tad misleading too, because they were scored on twice that one game.

Shame about the Anaheim one - it was a real kick-in, but that would now have been 3 times with a 2 goal deficit. I bet that would be a record.

I believe this is the one you're talking about?

We ended up losing that game as that was during our historic 9 game losing streak in 2009-2010, but yes what a goal that was...very similar to last night!

Did anyone catch Jim Foxx's (LA color) commentary after Gaudreau's second goal?

Pretty good stuff.

Defiantly said, "You think this kid CAN'T play in this league?? He sees the seams in the game. He knows exactly were to go." paraphrasing that last part.

Good stuff.

I tend to disagree with you on Kings letting off. They were still hitting and forechecking in the 3rd period. The two goals Gaudreau scored to tied the game was with the Flames extra man. Of course one of the goal was just fluke and lucky goal. I think the Flames deserves a credit for not giving up. They were awful on the first period because they were down early on a bad goal given up by Hiller.
