I would select Price. Its risky, but he can also carry your team to a Final. Francis built a great D corps in Carolina, and if he does the same in Seattle with a great goalie, they could be great right off the bat.
Pair him with a decent backup to share the workload, and you might have a golden tandem. Plenty of good goalies available in the ED.
Or you might have a boat anchor contract with a broken goalie.

Also as some have pointed out the report that Seattle ownership has given the green light to select Price might be a tactic to leverage a trade out of Montreal not to select Price.

This rumored deal makes no sense, the Panthers can't force Dreiger to sign with the Kraken.
More likely it is IF you sign Dreiger as a UFA then we'll deal you Vatrano. But that was before Price was exposed.

Any idea what the cap hit is? Probably comes close with that blueline. But should be workable with some tweaks.

Thatis $75.4M of committed contracts, so $6M of cap room.
But need to sign 9 RFAs (Aston-Reese, Ritchie, Benson, Donato, Athansiou, Honka, Bean, Zadorov, Dunn).
Really though I don't think it would be hard to move Giordano, Miller, or Butcher potentially with just 1 year remaining on their deals. Domi up front would probably be easy to move too.
So that could clear some cap out pretty easily.
