That's a pretty decent 1-5 on RW, even if Yamamoto gets sent down
Only because "top 30 centre in the league" Draisaitl is playing on the wing.

Frolik > Strome
Ferland = Kassian
Jagr > Yamamoto

Puljujarvi is starting in the AHL

I just don't see the big issue here.

Just because he had a good camp it is a slap in the face and an insult for the organization to ever send him down again?

He's proven zilch up to this point. Being the first call up because they don't want him stuck on the 4th line should be considered a total success. And maybe they've explicitly told him they will try to make room for him in the top 9 via trade.

These players understand there is a business side of this game and it isn't as simple and just playing the 12 guys who looked best in camp. We have to consider contracts, leadership, veterans, roles etc.

I get that prospects always have that mystery box appeal to them but holy cow, simmer down a bit here.

We know he's not playing opening night. That's it. It's not like they bought him out or they straight up cut him and sent him to Siberia.

It's pretty up in the air at this point.

If Draisaitl plays top line RW, Strome is center, but if they do try and have him drive his own line, then Strome is likely on RW.

So a potential to be something like:

Strome
Yamamoto
Caggiula
Kassian

That's not very intimidating at all.

What? I thought Drai was centering the 2nd line this year? Have the already figured out that Leon only looks like an $8M player when he is propped up by McJesus? That didn't take long lol.

Line combos in their practices suggest he starts at RW beside his sugardaddy.

So really, contain one line that will likely come out every 2nd shift.

It's funny that all preseason the biggest point of contention is the 6/7th dman and 4th line. First world problems......

I believe this is an example of the team adding depth on the 3rd and 4th lines. For example, a guy like Glass may have had NHL offers elsewhere and not available on a 2 way deal.

Kind of sucks for Jankowski, but he wasn't going to make a big difference on the 4th liner. He'll be back guys, and when he is, its going to be an ace in the hole if an injury happens and will leapfrog many of the players that arbitrarily made the team ahead of him.
