Did the Flames lose their minds and claim the league was out to get them when Gio was supsended for 2 games for basically tripping a guy? No. They disagreed with the ruling, but respectfully accepted the league's decision and Gio served his two games like a mature professional. Has any other team whined this much when their own guy was suspended? No, because they're adults and they accept the league's ruling even though they may disagree with it at times. I said it back then as well. That McDavid tackle of Backlund was a very dangerous play, and easily should have been suspended. That kind of play breaks necks.
