I liked Zellers. They follow The Bay's shelf stocking method of putting all their stuff into a bin in the middle of the store and blowing it up.

Will that stop with the Target stores coming in?

I've been to a few Targets down in Texas, and it struck me (at the time) as a cleaner version of Zellers.

My uncle, who lives down there, informed me that wasn't because of the store policies so much as the cheap Mexican labour... so I expect a name change, and a few brand changes, but everything else to be the same. Might get a SLIGHT increase in clothes quality.

Maybe it's a Canadian thing, as both London Drugs and Canadian Tire use this method as well.

Except 90 percent of the population in Chestermere refuses to stop in Forest Lawn.

It's effective - to get out of the store, you have to buy your way out of the crap piled around you.

Yeah there is certainly some truth to that, but sometimes time doesnt allow the drive into the more "suitable" parts of town.

Being in Langdon I usually choose to head into the 130th ave shopping zone or Deerfoot/Heritage Meadows off of Glenmore. So I know what you mean.

Chestermere however is right on the doorstep of Forest Lawn, so convenience would play a factor I would think, even if you have to pinch your nose as you walk through the parking lot.

"Chestermere West: If we called it East Forrest Lawn we wouldn't be able to sell these houses"

They'd rather drive to Sunridge. Trust me.

Yeah, Chestemere is full of stuck up pricks. Kind of like Sherwood Park.

First 24 Canadian locations to be in Ontario, (shocker).

Quote:
Calgary Target locations will be at Chinook Centre, Forest Lawn Shopping Centre, Market Mall, the Shoppes at Shawnessy, Signal Hill Centre and Sunridge Mall.
They are also building a massive distribution centre in Balzac.

Quote:
American retail giant Target Corp. is building a huge distribution centre just outside Calgary, the Herald has learned.

Molly Snyder, Target spokesperson, confirmed the centre will be the company’s third in Canada and will be in Balzac in Rocky View County.

“The centre will be approximately 1.3 million square feet and will sit on just under 80 acres,” she said. “Target has selected sites for its distribution centres that will help to ensure that our supply chain needs are met for our Canadian stores. Target intends to open its first stores in March/early April 2013 and its distribution centres will be completed in time to support the needs of the stores.”

Saw that yesterday, what a joke. Bought stuff from there in the States a few times, was pumped when I saw the title on CBC Twitter yesterday that 24 new stores were opening in Canada. Then I read the article. All 24 will be in the southern Ontario strip, haha wtf??? A Target on every corner!

I was responding to him saying I was poor and lacked style. And you should probably just let the mods do their job.

I have heard that complaining about infractions is a pretty good way not to get more.

You do realize you are quoting a post made just shy of a year ago, don't you?

I am looking forward to the Target stores. Going to Zellers a week before Christmas, they had less than HALF of their tills open, with each one being 10 people deep Plus that I pretty much boycott Walmart, hopefully this will be a good change.
