Try to make hockey cool again... the Seatle Hipsters. Imagine how much fun they could have with that! The jersey could look like a plaid t-shirt with tattoo sleeves, everyone would have to have a beard, no visors just thick glasses. I mean the possibilities are endless!

I like the name.
If I owned a team it would be my first and only choice.
The biggest reason is I think it would be the best name to sell a boatload of merch to fans and non fans alike.
I wouldn't care about having a name best representing the city but a name that would make me the most money.

Toronto named its NBA team Raptors with no discernible connection to the region based on the hoopla of a popular movie of its day.
In that spirit: The Seattle Parasite?

Should have been the Seattle Karens. Could have glued "bob" wigs to the helmets and complained to the refs. Take the puck and go home just like they do with the kids.

Yeah, if this is the name they will definitely have a huge opportunity for great merch
There's a guy named Sparky that has been putting out Seattle concepts for a while now that even had a neat idea for a fun-style of Kraken:

..let alone the cool menacing dark Kraken stuff they can do too

Like or hate the name Kraken, it's still way better than Golden Knights. Seattle ownership must have been relieved to see the new team name bar set so low

Since it's standard for team names to get shortened (Avs, Preds, Caps, etc), I really look forward to seeing the Kraks take the ice

So who's voice do you use for powerplay announcements?
Bill Nighy?
Liam Neeson?
Lawrence Olivier?

Probably, but Olivier is maybe the most famous actor ever. However, in 1981 he was pretty old. Nighy is an underrated voice.

I like it. A lot. Already has the built in catch phrase, "Release the Kraken."

Release the Kraken

In the battle of NHL logos, Kraken wins right?
Lightning might have a shot - but it could only strike the same spot once. I think the Kraken shrugs it off.

I think it has to be Neeson.
Olivier's delivery is great, but for the points within a hockey game that I imagine its usage, it is probably too detached to convey the right intensity.
My first choice would probably be Nighy, but I fear that his cadence is not deliberate enough, and would be in danger of fading into the atmosphere of the building.
I can imagine Neeson's natural baritone sounding ominous and chilling if amped up to maximum levels inside a frothing arena.
