The hilarious part about the USA being eliminated is that the tournament was set up to have a Canada USA final.

He actually does play for the national sled team, so the tweet wasn't really that far out there.

The team was named in May, before he was injured or the injury was known.

I liked how the PBP and the panel complemented the top line on their disciplined short shifts. And Babcock obviously played hot players at different times through the game. Good coaching.

Ugh yeah, the NHL's fingerprints were all over it.
Also if the Czechs had a team then the Swiss should've had one too.

I found it boring, especially after the 3rd Canadian goal. I had zero expectations the U.S. would be able to score 3 more on Carey Price and the superstar Canadian defense.

Quick had the sv% of .882 .... nominally better than Hiller's .879
There has been near unanimous analysis that the Flames will be significantly better with Elliott and his .930 sv % being used as the primary change.
Was the whole blame for USA's underwhelming performance Quick's fault in the same way that the Flames were a 26th place team because of Hiller?
The USA out-shot Canada 36-34 and the Corsi battle would have been close.

Quick is one of the best goalies in the last 10 years, not a fair comparison.

I haven't seem this argument presented when analyzing the total fail of the USA hockey system.
If Quick played as well as he has in the past in the Kings Playoff runs the USA might have won 2-1 and Canada would be wondering what the heck happened with the Canadian hockey programme? Why Gio and Subban were not out there to generate some offense?
Quick started 73 games last year and had 10 games where he gave up 4 or more goals.

I hate to defend anything about Tortorella, IMO, one of the most overrated NHL coaches in NHL history, but, I must say that the ESPN talking heads, going on and on about his challenge being a mistake, on the Perry goal, were completely wrong...as completely wrong as Furlat and MacCauley.
Perry had disengaged from the D-Man, and entered Quick's crease, BEFORE the puck was there...in the process, Perry kicked Quick off square, hitting Quick's right leg pad...IMO, THIS WAS CLEARLY GOALTENDER INTERFERENCE...then, and only then, did the puck enter the crease, and hit Perry's pants, bounding in. The challenge SHOULD have been upheld, and the criticism of Torts for making the challenge is invalid.
That said, in no way, as the US team was constructed and coached, did they ever have a chance to do well in this exhibition.

You missed the goal posts Team USA hit late in the 3rd. It was odd that they couldn't ramp it up earlier in the game.

Carey Price moved the puck better than the majority of USA D last night.
It was a big factor in thwarting the Americans "dump( chip) and chase ". It was their primary offensive tactic.
Utter fail.
