I get it! Bad choice of words perhaps! But they like to talk about how we are always out played or just getting lucky, fact is IMO we are playing a system that works for our team. We aren't the best puck possession team but we play a Hartley system that is working for us!

He can't hang on to a puck. He is made of rubber, rebounds everywhere. He made great saves, but we also got a lot of lucky bounces tonight. there were at least 3 should have been goals for Dallas that we got lucky on.

Hard to watch the third but gutsy effort to get the W on a back to back. Hiller was huge after giving up a bad first goal. Crazy this team is still in a playoff spot after 77 games. This is a team of destiny they are going to get in

Wow, you can see how much the boys want this, they are putting it all on the line, trying so hard. Unfortunately you can jus see how tight they get protecting the lead there in the third, just stuck in quick sand because they are tight.

All that matters is that they found a way, and how can you fault the effort. Just hope they find a way to play their aggressive game down the stretch, it will be better on my heart and on the their record I'm sure.

Even though a large portion of the hockey community has been under the impression for years that wearing a mouth guard helps prevent a concussion, Dr. Cantu offered up a simple explanation as to why that's not true.

"No study that mouth guards prevent concussions has been done," said Dr. Cantu. "But they do prevent injuries to the teeth so I would recommend all collision-sports players wear mouth guards."

I can post many many more links, but the myth that mouthguards prevent concussions is not true.

He can afford new teeth but he can't get a new brain. Mouth gaurds also help prevent concussions aswell. He should keep it in. He has been lucky so far this year only getting caught a handful of times with a solid hit. He may not get so lucky in the seasons to come.

I know my mouthguard has saved my front chicklets at least 3 or 4 times.

They sure don't protect against a busted lip though. Or a broke nose for that matter.

I agree though, it would be preferable if he kept it in, however if you look at how much he plays with his mouthguard I think it's fair to say the habit would be very hard to kick. The people who do say mouthguards prevent concussions point towards the biting motion of the guard and how that removes pressure from the jaw/brain. Since Johnny does bite on his guard, even when it's half out of his mouth, I would think the level of protection for his brain is exactly the same. In fact if you look at how Johnny plays with the guard, he's actually biting down on it more than most other players who have their mouths open, as he has it hanging half out and needs to bite down to keep it in his mouth.

Anyway, I digress.
