I've been getting off work fairly late for the last few months so I pretty much catch a bit of most flames games on the radio, and I honestly couldn't disagree more
if you mean rob Kerr or loubardias then I can see where you're coming from, but Maher is a hall of famer for a reason

how anyone could criticize Maher is beyond me, anyone that wants to be a play by play guy should have to listen to him as an intro class. He consistently says the score, stays focused, says the time and period, never fumbles, always coherent. There are few people better at it than him.

Loved Burke's reaction on that Flames goal they just showed before the commercial break:
I could hear him thinking - "That Backlund kid can really skate"

Loudest Francis has heard the crowd in a while. "A while" being two periods ago with the win over Chicago.

Did I miss something? What's this reference to Backlund's skating from?

Rumour has it Burke made a comment at a luncheon that Backlund wasn't a very good skater.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure all the intermission segments, except where they give a brief recap of the period, are all pre-recorded.
There was a game a few weeks ago where the Flames were the early game and the Oilers were a late game, and they had the exact same segments in the intermissions of both games.

Overreaction from a Burke statement saying he thinks Backlunds skating soemtimes holds him back, or something like that
