Two promises broken here, and they are merely the latest on an ever-growing pile.
Head on question: Do you think Redford made the right call reneging on these two promises, cutting education funding and causing programs, such as nursing, to get cut? More importantly, can you even answer the question without trying to deflect the answer toward something that is not Redford and the government?
If you aren't going to call out all partisan potshots, then spare me the sanctimonious commentary.

Personally I don't think it was the right call. But not I'm a blind ideologue like the frothing at the mouth Wildrosers.

Really? They must be leaving in droves with the terrible health care then?
First you claimed Wildrose had no policies. Then you've backtracked to try and cover your own theories that are based on nothing but imagination.
Clearly you have no substantive argument to make.
Are you really that pleased with the Redford government?

I gave you concrete example of something that Redford has done that I like. Care to comment on that?

While I'm glad you contribute something of actual value in the thread, I'm not sure if you asked me to comment on your opinion before.
Care to rehash it?

That's quite the affirmative conclusion from a negative premise.

Not really, but I'm willing to consider it a better option than the off-chance that the WRP gets to practice their ideology unfettered.

I was just saying that I thought that the cancer clinic funding announcement is something that I think is awesome for the province.

The only sad thing is your post. Why not contribute to the discussion going on and stick your drive by comments where the sun don't shine.

Certainly not the worst thing she's done. However it looks like another in a long line of promises that Redford won't be able to keep, they've already spent far too much.

Redford doing the right thing.
Quote:
Redford commented on her family’s travel practices after she was asked by Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith how she covers the costs of family members who might accompany her on out-of-province trips.
“We have rules where if my family travels with me, I pay those expenses even though I believe that since the time I became leader of the party and premier of the province there were rules in place that would have allowed my family to travel with me,” Redford said Monday night, speaking to the MLA committee reviewing the proposed 2013-14 budget of the executive council, which includes the premier’s office.
|
Quote:
Redford noted Monday that when her husband, Glen Jermyn, and daughter, Sarah, travelled with her to the London Olympics, the family paid for everything related to their expenses.
|
Quote:
“I think there should be some equivalency. If on occasion, MLAs are allowed to take family members on certain trips, I don’t see why the premier shouldn’t be allowed to, too,” she said.
“But it sounds like she is taking quite a rigid view on that and I think the public will be satisfied with that.”

Good lord! You won't even agree that funding for a cancer clinic is something good that she's done? I suppose that just confirms the inanity of the thread. That doesn't strike me as a very partisan issue...

What good is announcing funding when they can't afford it? When they actually budget and build this clinic it would be great, but is this the same as when they announced funding for post-secondary institutions and then promptly cut their funding?
How can you tell this is a promise they mean to keep vs one of the ones they mean to break?

There is no point attempting to have a discussion with you. It's clear that you treat politics as a team sport. You're going to support your team, right or wrong and 'cheer' against the other team no matter what. The WRP are the Flames and the PC Party are the Canucks and/or Oilers.
Others choose to take a more nuanced view. Context matters, circumstance matters, and we can even disagree with individual policies or decisions while continuing to support the party that best reflects our values.
You're here to bash all things Redford and all things PC. Good for you. Just don't try to call that a contribution.

Pot calling the kettle black. You come here to bash posters for their views including mine. Why focus on a select few when you have others. Sorry but that's not a contribution
If you were looking for discussion you should knock off the drive bys and do like Slava and Makarov do - offer a rebuttle to what others say. Just do it

Point taken Dion. I let the tone of the discussion get the better of me yesterday. I'm working on it. The 'frothing' comment was not a contribution.
It would be nice if all sides of the discussion policed themselves a bit better and exercised more self-control. Slava and Makarov are good role models.
