No one in their right mind could pick the Oilers to come out of the west now.

Window's closing fast.

Left him out intentionally because I believe they will re-sign him. But yes, another potential trade chip

The only way is if the winner of the central is dog tired after the first two rounds and has no gas left. Like the last two years.

The only worry is that the Pacific is butter soft and the Central teams will have to beat each other up to get to the CF.

Hopefully the oilers lose their divisional spot and fall to WC2, or better yet fall right out of the playoffs. Sure would be nice if the Sharks could get hot.

There's also a reasonable chance that the Oilers have to go through the central this year if they're dropped to the wildcard.

If the Avs win the Cup it's one more step to mission accomplished in Colorado fir Makar, where he can comfortably leave, be a hero there and come help bring a Cup to his hometown. Bonus he helps the Flames get a better pick by making the Avs worse when the pick comes due.

Win the Cup Kadri and Makar. Be the heroes Calgary deserves.

Yup, that is nice - only one of them can win the division, so that pick is probably in the low 50s, chance of high 40s

Glad Kadri gets to go back to a strong team he has history with. Great return for us too

They could play deep into these next two playoff seasons (see also, Panthers, Florida) and end up out of the playoffs in 2028. Those extra months of hockey take a lot of players and their ability to recover during the off-season.

My bud who watched Curran says Curran is soft and will never play a game in Calgary. I am mostly positive but what he said.

Curran is Irish-Czech. They mentioned it during the World Juniors. Father is Irish, which explains the surname.

Huh. I guess Baghdad bob must have forgotten that widely used mantra ABC - anyone but Calgary - that was a mantra for many years when the grease pigs sucked and the Flames were doing well.

On topic - I like the trade. But giving up the 4th…that’s terrible news and a deal breaker because now we will never know. Am I doing the negative stuff right?

I kid, I kid.

If you believe that the flames will be on an upswing, weegar and Kadri’s salary room will help. And I love that Flames won’t have players that we have to offer scouting jobs in Kelowna like greasers.

Both of my ratings in today's two polls go up one spot after hearing this.
