Isn't he also on IR at the moment and UFA at the end of the season?
If Laine comes to Calgary, I doubt he stays more than a few months and may hardly play.

Even before hearing this, I still felt good about the chances of a deal for Kadri getting done. I figure between the Flames, other teams, and Kadri that the parties will finally budge enough to get something done under the pressure of the final hours.

If the Flames get Xhekaj then Conroy would be making a biggggg Dcore for this team. Makes sense with Wolf to clear the front of the net so he can see shots.

I could see the Flames offering Laine a short term extension to give him some stability and to get the deal across the finish line. Hopefully some decent picks coming back

He's a lefty I think so would need to move Maatta then probably as Bahl and Kuz seem like fixtures moving forward

If this goes through without retention, should hopefully then quickly move things forward on Coleman IMO. Connie can go back to all the teams and say yep, we can retain, give us your best offer.
So, I think even if this return isn't stellar, it's gotta be done.

I was thinking about this and if it's Dallas or Miami maybe - they are big cities and you could find "better" areas to live in as far as that goes.

I tend to think that Carolina being leaked early on (and really the only one mentioned by name) means it's one that Kadri has strong feelings about.

Weegar just had a good interview on SN and he seemed to say him and his wife had pretty much made his decision by the time Friedman tweeted. He ended the interview saying “Thanks Elliott!” Lol
There didn’t seem to be any resentment behind the joking… I suspect people in Parayko’s camp may have been more annoyed about the media leaks.
