I'm still taking Stenberg but in the past month McKenna has woken up. Now he's looking very similar to Bedard in many ways. A bit undersized, quick but not the top end speed, but great shot. McKenna's definitely narrowing the gap (if any).

Does Mckenna probably have the higher ceiling? Probably. However for an average sized winger to be a gamechanger is rare and only about four or five if these guys are in the league. He is pure offense so his usage is going to be offense only. Has the talent to be a 100 point guy in strategic deployment. Doing great in the NCAA.

Stenberg is already playing in a men’s professional league as an 18 year old. You dont get ice time unless your contributing to winning and he is just under a point per game. Has the talent to be a point per game but also a player you use whether defending a lead or looking to get it. To me that makes him a more valuable player-deployment.
What's more, he's doing it in a league where there is less scoring in general compared to the NHL. The SHL has 5 total players who are above a point per game. Stenberg is 15th in that league in p/g. For an 18 year old, that's crazy good.

I'm still on team McKenna, but if we end up with the 2nd pick and get Stenberg, I won't be disappointed at all.

Stenberg might be the better player, but McKenna is the better elite offensive talent.
Flames need elite offensive talent.
For all of his warts, McKenna can provide the opportunities to generate offense that the Flames are lacking.
