If he didn’t learn it in 7 years in this city including a playoff series, he never will.
He chased the Oilers money plain and simple.

I would think someone would take a pretty low risk chance on Regula.

Good for him
Wonder if he can stay on his skates now
Darryl Sutter made him a very wealthy man.

More like Backlund made Mangiapane a very wealthy man. Backlund always makes players around him better.

Crazy that he had that 35 goal year and led canada in that world championship but has looked like canon fodder since.
At least he cashed in on a couple decent contracts.

for some reason, I thought he's a pending UFA. But one more year at $3.6m? Yeah, I hope he doen't get claimed.

^ because they wouldnt agree to be traded or sign there otherwise... they have to up the ante enough to get that bad taste out of their mouth.

But that would contradict their claim that every free agent is frothing at the mouth to play there.

And Walman’s raise kicks in next year. They have to move Mang just to pay for it.

You would have to think that the Oilers already put out a memo that he was available and if someone wanted him, they would have offered future considerations for him. I think this is just them making a last ditch effort, but he most likely doesn't get claimed. They'll take the $900K in cap and move on.
