Yeah, it will certainly be interesting to see what happens.

Few tidbits from nhltraderumors:
-Bruce Garrioch says that the Sens have checked in in Coleman.
-Rob Couch Speculates that there could be three teams in on Whitecloud- Bruins, Sens, and Seattle.
-Dave Littman speculates that the teams in on Kadri are the Avs, Stars, Wild, and Habs.
-James Wilson says the Bruins and Leafs might be interested in Whitecloud.

Well I'm still going to practice my F5 pressing skills. I should help me to get used to the disappointment of a trade not happening exactly when I want it to!

Awesome and great news! We all know this is the only way it happens before UFA year
I would be happy if "only" Kadri and Whitecloud are dealt before the deadline - though best case is if Coleman is also dealt. However, if we are drafting at the top, it would be nice to staple McKenna or Stenberg to Coleman - Backlund for half a year.
I don't think you can deal both Whitecloud AND Weegar. I'm fine with either or until Parekh gains 10 lbs of muscle and another year of experience and NHL processing speed.
for Whitecloud, I agree that a 2nd wouldn't do it, but I would easily take 2 2nds and not hold out for that elusive 1st rounder.

I hope Coleman goes to a team I like, because I'd like to be able to cheer for him.

I really hope you didn't just jinx it and he gets traded in a rare trade between Calgary and Edmonton.

I feel like Coleman to TB for Sam O'Reilly makes a lot of sense.

Its where Carolina makes a lot of sense if he's willing to go there.
They have a surplus of young assets including 4 firsts over the next 3 drafts.
And also have Kotkaniemi's contract that the Flames can take back.
He has 4 x $4.8M remaining after this season - $19.2M
Kadri has 3 x $7.0M remaining after this season - $21.0M
So I think that becomes a pretty fair trade off from a purely financial spend perspective and then you add the assets you'd get for Kadri.

Kadri has been a good solider for this team. I hope he gets what he deserves and plays for a winner .

Kotkaniemi would instantly become a CP whipping boy.

Yeah. It’s pretty much the perfect example of acquiring Coleman for a player that projects to be just like Coleman in 3-4 years. And Tampa is in their window now so the trade just makes sense.

If there is one player who could spark the Leafs, it’s Kadri, he was a leader for that young core before and you know he can drag them into battle. Whitecloud won’t do anything for them. The longer Tre dicks around with this, the more likely he gets fired. Just give the Flames their 2028 1st, 2027 2nd and Cowan and get it done and save your season and career really. Flames can take whatever garbage cap dumps to make the money work.

Things will probably shape up over the Olympic break.

Not sure I understand this. The Flames would require an extra good package from Mtl (as compared to other offers) to approach Naz about waiving?

Call me crazy and I may be a little bias as I enjoy watching him play.. but Calgary needs to resign Lomberg. The guy brings character and energy to this franchise and would be excellent for a rebuild. In saying that, I'm not sure if he wants to stay for a rebuild. It's just enjoyable to watch him and Klapka play together.

Well this is dang exciting. I'm not expecting a world smashing return, but something for the future would be nice.
