Sounds like Demko might be out for the season. Vancouver's tank is unstoppable.

I still cannot believe they signed him again, not to mention that AAV.

i feel like Demko can thank Quinn Hughes for that contract. This was a signing to show Hughes that the Canucks were headed in the right direction i feel. very predictable injury problems.

Even this season when he played he was still.very good. The issue now seems to be whether he will ever play again.
There are rumblings he may put his papers in.

Demko is a tough one but I'm also a big fan of him. When he's healthy, he's a top goalie in the NHL very easily. And this is even with his recurring injury history. Bounces back each time and plays like he didn't miss a beat. This recent injury and return has been his only blip that I've seen where he wasn't outstanding. It's too bad for him, because if he were able to stay healthy, he had a really strong career trajectory. Canucks had to bring him back given their plans in the offseason were to compete and extend Hughes. Lankinen won't cut it and Silovs always seemed to be a guy that Canucks brass didn't think much of.

I think Vancouver fans would probably feel the same, I recall hearing a funny clip from a Canucks podcast a few years ago (I think Sekeres & Price?) where they were complaining about how insufferable Edmonton fans are and that they missed bickering with Flames fans.

The Canucks were the only team for which the Flames had to bring in extra security in the 2006-2016 time frame. Not for Oilers' games, but only Canucks games...

It falls outside your noted window, but the Flames had to reserve Tkachuk's hotel room under a different name in Edmonton and also hired security to escort him to/from the arena for BoA games.

Well I'm not saying their fans are saints, as someone who's lived in Vancouver I can tell you first hand they have a weird way of supporting their local teams and expressing civic pride (rioting). I also didn't know that fact but not 100% surprised, almost more surprised they didn't need to beef up security at Edmonton during that window as well.
I think times have changed a little since then with hockey in general demographically though. I remember going over to Vancouver a few times as a kid to see some Flames vs Canucks games and I'm pretty sure I saw a fight breakout in the stands every time, and I also remember anyone I knew who went to a game around approximately 2004-2012 talking about fights in the nosebleeds, whether it be Flames fan vs Canucks fan, Edmonton fan vs Canucks fan, Canucks fan vs Canucks fan...... But I've found going to games like post 2015ish the fan experience is a lot more chill and family friendly everywhere I've seen a game (mostly Vancouver and Calgary since then).
Basically less angry, stupid drunk guys in the crowd. I imagine the rising cost of experiencing a hockey game makes people realize you should put an effort into making the evening a nice experience coupled with the fact it prices out some of the knuckle draggers. Or maybe they're still there, but can't get as dangerously plastered due to the cost of stadium beers.

I'd agree, though the notable exception in current days would be trash oilers fans fighting each other during their playoff runs.

I'm so happy that Vancouver is doing worst than Calgary as basement-dwellers!
