You were one of those suggesting that they needed to trade him now to avoid injury risk of the Olympics and move down the standings.
So this is what it looks like man.
No surprise you are still complaining.

Yeah I think you look for the equivalence of two first rounders plus a bit more for a small retention.
1st is there.
2nd is there (I'll ignore the could be a first)
serviceable NHL defenseman likely worth a 2nd?
Prospect that I'd assume they like
Are we saying two 2nds and a prospect isn't worth a 1st?

Acquiring Whitecloud does also open up the possibility they could trade Weegar

Return is decent. If you don’t want to be hamstrung by the whole extension talk, you trade a guy earlier. A rebuilding team should not be trying to extract maximum amount of games from their older players, it just makes little sense.
My hope is that the team fully commits to moving Kadri for best package possible this season.

Ya it is now 4 straight years with at least 2 first round picks and if Vegas wins the Cup this year it will be 5 straight years minimum with at least 2 first round picks. This is how you rebuild.

So, we want Vegas to win the cup this year, this year's pick would go to crap, but they would get a 2028 1st round pick, unprotected, they also get a 2027 1st round pick, so Vegas can win cup this year, suck $#@& next year, but don't suck too much...like just be 11th bad come 2027 draft
Could work out really good for CC, I like his logic, good calculated risk that he took here

I like the idea of having two first round picks for 5 straight years if Vegas wins the cup this year. With three of them being from Vegas and watching their core age out and have nothing in the pipeline.

That’s a terrible return, likely a late 1st round pick, a 2nd two years from now and a 3rd pair dman. WOW, great asset management Craig…..knocked that one out of the park.
It this type of crap asset management that will lead the Flames to winning nothing…..

It's not his fault the league is currently rigged this way, he used his ability to go exactly where he wanted to go.
Blame Vegas and the league.

I’m firmly in the camp of flip Whitecloud, however maybe they can keep him and trade Hanley?
He’s the type of guy we can put with parekh or bru

I don't fault Rasmus. He signed a sweetheart deal that underpaid him for most of that time. He had the right to either go where he wanted, or set himself up to test the UFA waters.
This will mean 2 firsts in 3 straight years. I like that.
Was hoping for a better return but not going to lose sleep over it.

Four straight years: 24,25,26, and 27.
Oops. I can’t keep up ! Haha

That is simply not accurate.
Also, what if no other team’s first was on the table without an extension?

That’s an incredibly average return.
That fact that’s it’s to Vegas is what pisses me off the most.
