I trenched out the ice on along the curb to the storm drain to speed up the water drainage. This way it hopefully doesn't freeze into large sheets of perfect slippery ice once it gets cold again in the coming few days. This vs deep flooded puddles due to ice dams across the street that block drainage to storm drains with puddles deep enough that they can probably submerge a small dog.
I also broke down sections of snow piles and ice and flattened any peaks to make sure work and street parking doesn't continue to be blocked/scrape the bottom of the vehicle as you go by.
