I hope the reason the trade doesn’t happen is because Edmonton is on Binnington’s NT list and he won’t waive to go there along with this information becoming public.

Binnington is really the only goalie option out there who has any previous pedigree. Oilers management aren’t going to trade for an up and coming goalie since the risk is too high. This way they can sell they can sell they are bringing in a Stanley Cup quality goaltender who is also buddies with McSavior.

So what does a realistic deal look like? Guessing something like this,

To EDM
Binnington (50%)

To StL
Skinner
2027 1st
2026 2nd
2028 3rd (StL pick from previous deal)

Please NHL. Dont do the oilers any more favours. Drives me nuts when teams bail them out of their messes by trading with them without making them pay a huge premium. Vancouver just gave them a free pass in the offseason on Evander Kane. Instead, make a desperate team pay through the nose to get a goaltender - any goaltender. For example, St. Louis would be stupid to not get an unprotected 1st++ from Edmonton to get Binnington. His value is likely only to go up at the Olympics so if the oilers want him right now, it better be a fleecing by St. Louis (eg. Unprotected 2027 1st + Howard + Savoie). I know he’s not worth that but St. Louis has nothing to lose by keeping him since he sucks and will improve their draft position. The oilers are madly desperate and there are few options for them to trade for.

The only way a deal can be done is if St Louis retains 50% and they send Skinner back. Just to eat the money is worth the 2027 1st.

He's likely the most hated Oiler in Stinktown. Can't be comfortable for him or his family to be out and about in public. The goobering hordes on him all the time.

IF I was Knobby the house elf, I'd be going into Bowman's office and telling him to freaking fire me.


Anyone who watches this game will see that out of the 6 goals maybe one was kinda iffy on Skinner.


But watching Bouchard losing puck battles, or McDavid on I think on the 4th goal doing a lazy flyby on a player in prime scoring position.


Coaches don't tell players to lazily lose battles on the board, or drift by shooters, or even on I think the wrap around goal back away from the puck carrier.


This reads like a spoiled entitle team lead by a iffy pouty leader that has made sure that they kill every coach that steps through the dressing room door.


Binnington couldn't saver the Oilers, Jacques Plant couldn't save the Oilers. God himself could strap on the old pads and guess what, he'd have a under .900 svpct.


This team in its own end, lazy, oblivious, stupid and the Glitter twins are the example they follow.

Nobody will take him, the Oilers and their play in their own this year have taken a guy that is no better then an average NHL starter and made him toxic.


on that 7th goal another soft play by their NHL blueline.


I'm starting to feel sorry for Skinner here. While he's not great, he's got a terrible glove and he's slow side to side, frankly his "Team mates" have destroyed him.
