everything that has happened in the last 2 and a half years?
Lindholm, Zadorov, Hanifin, Markstrom, TT, Mangiapane, Tanev
no other team even comes close to dealing that many impact players
They already had Ras traded but he didn't want to sign in LA, they are obviously moving him
Moving Kadri this year or next or in the summer is not the franchise ender you think it is lol

I knew a guy in a fantasy league once, traded all his vets for futures, and I mean ALL. I think the oldest player on the roster was 22 or something crazy like that.
We joked that after every loss, his players would mob the other team and ask them for their autographs.
There is a reason this was a fantasy league.

'None of them' isn't not ideal, it's abject failure.
I agree that Coleman has value with the kids and if they don't trade him until next year, I can live with that. Still prefer this year.
I think Kadri is more valuable this year than next. Get it done. It also sends the message to the fans that they hear us. And it expedites the rebuild somewhat.
Rasmus - mandatory minimum
Rasmus and Kadri - anything less and I'll be disappointed
all 3 - ideal

It could be the difference between drafting 1-4 and drafting 5-8 though, and we already know the difference that can make.
You need the top tier player, and you’re way more likely to get them in that top few picks than anywhere else.

Yeah it's ridiculous they aren't putting out this stuff for other teams, they are doing it to try and calm down talk within the fan base.
And most of the fan base is just tearing it apart and getting even more frustrated

Honestly it should be all 3 or it's a failure IMO.
Andersson has to move.
Kadri is going to have by far his highest value in a trade this season compared to waiting. He's already 35 and you can't just assume his strong play is going to continue.
Coleman plays the easiest position to replace, and a position the Flames already have a backlog of players in and need to make space for younger players. And of the wingers he will be the most coveted and have the most value.
You have to take advantage of this and trade all 3.
Doing anything else would be negligent IMO. And IMO if you can't create a market to get a good return then you're just bad at your job because those three all have that edge that every playoff team wants and will be very coveted around the league.

This is the worst team in the league with Kadri. They don't need to get rid of him to be that bad.

If they keep Coleman this year and trade him next deadline for a good return how is that negligent?

I think you’d be totally shocked how the majority of the fanbase feels about stuff like that.

I don't know the tides seem to be turning for some fans. Talked to a few coworkers earlier who were very against a rebuild, but now they want to blow it up and start over. They have seen enough this year.
Things change when you start losing a lot. Obviously a few people on this site are happy with ownership, but it doesn't mean everyone is.

I wonder if Boomer is howling at getting so many people riled up today! He must be having an awesome night reading this thread.
Flames are not stupid. There is no intention to compete. lol As Aaron stated somewhere on these threads, Conroy would have to be the most inept GM if he was trying to compete right now.

Would be nice if you stopped making things up about what people feel on this site. Has anyone posted they are happy with ownership? Who are you talking about? Maybe start quoting people instead of making sh** up.

I’m saying it could.
Once other teams begin selling, if the Flames don’t sell, then there ya go.

There were people in this thread saying they like the direction we are headed, were there not?
I also don't know why you are always so hostile to me, I am giving my opinion.

That’s different from saying people are happy with ownership
There’s a quote button. Use it instead of misrepresenting things

Just for the debate...it burns a year of development of that prospect and puts a further gap between the drafted player and our new core (Wolf / Parekh). It'd be 3yrs in your scenario, instead of 2yrs.

The whole "ownership is really bad in Calgary" argument is really sad, actually.
What exactly do you KNOW about the ownership group and what they are doing and not doing that makes them bad exactly. I personally am not aware of much. Heck, the only reason I am upset is that Treliving was tendered an offer to stay! That makes me upset enough to want this team sold!
In all seriousness, what is it about the ownership group. Don't give vague answers like 'they meddle' - provide concrete examples. What did they EXACTLY do or don't do? I want to know whether I should start sharpening my pitchfork, or whether I should go out with a bucket of water and douse your torches. Not sure which action to take. All I ever hear is vague innuendos.
I will say this though..
IF the Flames are rebuilding (and all signs point to yes), then I applaud them. Why? This is a morbid post, but one I never see spoken about much.
Murray Edwards: 65
Allan Markin: 80
Alvin Libin: 94
Jeff McCaig: 73
Flames lost Clay Riddel, Doc Seaman, and Harley Hotchkiss. They also Ken King and Al Macneil from their long-term management positions.
Point is, rebuilds are rough. You lose. Your product is laughed at. There is little entertainment value. It also takes years. Knock on wood here - but how many will still be around to savour the fruits of a rebuild? I honestly believe that's a part of why teams don't want to enter into a rebuild - often the ownership groups are older. Plus, again knocking on wood, how many fans won't be around to enjoy the winning times?
Yet the Flames seem to have headed into a rebuild. If I am one of the more senior owners, I wouldn't be happy with a rebuild at all. It is a morbid thought, i know, but while some people want to smear the ownership group for being stupid, or uncaring, or whatever else you want to throw at them, I think I should point out their ages, and leave you to put two-and-two together when it comes to how long a rebuild will take. The fact that they are seemingly undergoing a rebuild should give them a lot more respect.

That assumes they acquire a 2026 pick by trading Coleman which may not be the case
