I have the same gear grinder for a lot of "no stopping" areas downtown. People will pick up their SO or whatever from work and instead of timing it so that they get in the car and go, they'll just stop in "no stopping" areas for minutes at a time. Technically it's illegal even to just pick people up there, but that would be no issue at all if people weren't dicks about it and just occupy space forever.
As far as the airport goes, I fly quite a bit, like 20+ times a year, and 95% of the time no checked luggage. When I get back and I'm getting picked up it's always on the level as others have said... you don't even have to go downstairs. As you go past the security, instead of going through the doors and down the escalator to where the baggage claims are, just go through the double doors on the left and straight out instead. Then they can pick you up just as they come up the ramp. It's much easier. That said I also practice the same theory here: I am outside before the person picking me up gets there; if they're early they don't drive to the terminal until I tell them I'm on my way out. It's a 20 second process at most to throw my bag in the back, get in and go.

Many believe putting on their hazard lights is a free parking pass.

I was at the YYC pickup zone recently and there was a commotion, parking was trying to tow an abandoned vehicle and also trying to get people to move who were not actively loading. The entitlement of these people, they continued to argue/disobey even when the police arrived.
I think the officer didn’t handle it correctly, he went the education route. The first thing our of his mouth should have been “licence and registration, you are getting a ticket for parking in an active loading zone”.
The response most likely would have been “blah, blah is coming right out”
My response, “license and registration, if your pickup is here by the time i’m done writing this ticket, I may consider cancelling it, but you are parked in a loading zone.”

Not even this. It's, "if you get back in your car and drive away without another word I won't give you a ticket, if you don't, you're getting one regardless of whether your pickup is here in 20 seconds or not."

I have a very specific type of pillow I like and it's SO hard to find...
- The pillow needs to be dense and weighty, not fluffy.
- It needs to be relatively thin.
- I do not want memory foam or down.
You can get dense memory foam but those are never comfortable in my experience (and I've tried a dozen at least at this point) and it seems seems like almost everything else, regardless of whether it's labeled as "firm", is just airy floofy crap. Can't live with it.

My pillow pickiness has gone up steadily as I get older. I now take 3 pillows (usually) when I travel;
One for betwen my legs (think Ikea toddler size pillow but denser.)
One for my outward facing arm (I'm a side sleeper. (An actual Ikea toddler size pillow))
And my top head pillow, which I'll usually place on top of the hotel pillow.
Definitely a pain in the butt, however it helps me slip marginally better on crappy hotel beds.

Zero enforcement is the problem. This is the problem EVERYWHERE. If it’s a loading zone for a specific thing, then enforce it for crying out loud.

CPS is too busy putting speed traps in departures.

Buckwheat. You can adjust the size by adding/removing, and it's definitely firm. I'll never go back to a soft pillow. The Japanese don't live so long because of blue zones, it's because they know how to pillow.
