Was hard to believe it was from the same director behind Prey.
Two totally different movies in the same universe.
While it was fun it also played it safe. Felt more geared towards 13 year olds than adults who've seen a hundred action/sci-fi movies like it already. The creature/robot "team up" was enjoyable I guess. But the trophy monster wasn't nearly as intimidating as it was hyped up to be.
I really hope they do another period piece setting on earth with the next one. I loved Prey. Maybe medieval or even ancient times would be insanely cool.

You think a guy can keep a secret…
I actually thought you nailed it when your first comment out of the theatre was “I think I liked it?” If it was humans instead of cyborgs, it probably would’ve been a point higher for me. Weird to see a campy, cute, kinda funny predator movie. But hey… I think I liked it.

Badlands was badass, best fun since Arnolds original IMO.

Still trying to figure out how to absorb this sentence.

It was total made for tv nonsense. Nicely filmed is all I can give it but the lines and stupidity was silly. Netflix has been complete garbage the past year.

I called russic a child predator because he is a great human and it was punny with the movie we watched and he’d think it’s funny and it makes him text me and say F you. That’s the gizzed of it.

There wasn't enough vengeful killing in Frankenstein. The Creature swore to take away everything Victor loved. Very disappointing.

No way, that was definitely Prey.
This one was more dumb fun.

Did they realize when they killed Bond Bond would be dead? I'm not sure they did. This is Kathleen Kennedy grade lack of planning. Like, ya. He's dead. You literally killed the golden goose, and now I guess you need a plan.

Lol, these writers are idiots. It’s James Bond FFS. Continuity doesn’t matter at all. The character has been essentially reinvented every time a new actor steps into the role. Is it really that difficult to start over fresh with a clean slate and write a new Bond story?

I liked Fantastic 4. I have no interest in the characters at all, but I thought it hit the right tone, had a charming energy, and liked that they didn't shy away from going cosmic with it. Pretty fresh as far as Marvel stuff is concerned. Light years better than anything else F4 related.

What?
the plan is to just keep shooting James Bond movies, with a new actor.
I'm sure most people don't think that the Bond of Dr. No and Spectre are the same person?

Of course not. But Bond is a character, and that character was killed. They can either completely ignore it, or try to make some silly explanation. That's why it was so dumb, though. It forces them to treat the audience like they are idiots.
At the end of On Her Majesty's Secret Service Bond got married(and almost immediately widowed). Could have been the end of the character, and in this regard I think they jumped the gun. They should have ended like that, rode the media attention, and at the start of the next one, kill her and jump right back in. Even more fun because Connery had come back to the roll. Anyway, minor point, but Bond getting married is a character change you can undo.
You can't undo death without either trying for an explanation or admitting the death idea was pretty ####. Because the problem is audiences now know Bond can die, and that can be used to play with their emotions, or kill him at the end of every movie, and it's cheap tripe. You are no longer the best spy in the world if your craft is to win by dieing every time.

Nbd. There's a longstanding theory that the 007 and Bond name are a title not a specific person. Easiest fix ever and fans can focus instead on being furious that it's Idris Elba.

You don't have to explain anything. Daniel Craig's Bond wasn't even a 00 agent at the start of Casino Royale, but they didn't need to explain how that worked with the character's previous depictions. They rebooted it and they'll do the same for the next one.

Make "It's a title rather than a specific individual" more formal, done.
Heck you could have a new origin story for a new person where they become a 00 agent and then assume the 007 title after some emotional thing that relates to the previous 007.

Exactly. It requires no explanation. Take as much or as little as you want from bond lore, like every other iteration has done. Embrace the last movie or completely ignore it. It makes no difference.

I don't think a single Bond movie has ever integrated the previous movies when they changed the lead. Why would anyone expect that to change? Other than keeping Q (Desmond Llewelyn) and M (Judi Dench) I don't think anything has been consistent in the previous movies.
