I do understand there is a risk that we allow more chances if we play Zayne more. But we will never even know if we limit his minutes so much.

Also, it really doesn't help that it seems he has such a short leash. I really think Huska has destroyed his confidence. Every little thing he does wrong he gets benched for while the vets have free reign to turn the puck over shift after shift.

Is this even true? He’s still adjusting. Huska has also thrown him in the end of the game to try and attempt a tie. That sure looks like trust to me, but what do I know.

If that were true he’d be benched/scratched even more than he’s been. Huska and Conroy have both mentioned that they know he’s going to make mistakes and they’re focused on his development. Seems like a stretch to assume Parekh isn’t also aware and on board and focused on taking it all in.

People discount Conroy and Huska’s knowledge of these guys and at the same time discount Parekh’s mental approach to the game. Really strange to me with zero evidence to support it.

You just sound very passionate about it. Almost irrationaly passionate. I don't mind a different opinion, I welcome it. I'm certainly wrong enough times that it's good to have someone keeping me honest.

It's the heated discussion that some times tends to slide into personal attacks from both sides that bugs me.

This stuff is confusing but the 40 mark is not games played but games on the roster regardless of if he’s playing

Okay. How do you know that's not what the Flames are doing with Parekh?

I don't have a clue and didn't make any claim to say they are not. In fact, i specifically said I wasn't commenting on Parekh's management. But I do remember the Ducks saying before the season started that they would be managing Carlsson's games.

Agreed totally which is why I have really focused on addressing the difference in opinions instead of attacking posters. I know my history, I'm making an effort to be a better poster.

Difficult to track down exactly but I don't think it was twenty games missed due to injury. Two games to start the season, injured December 21st vs Calgary then missed only ten games before returning January 15th against the Panthers.

I saw he missed 2 games due to one injury, 8 games to another, and 10 to a third, but the information may have been erroneous. One was an injury in training camp, one an MCL sprain, one a concussion

But him being scratched was definitely the plan.

For now, Carlsson, who was selected with the No. 2 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, will play in about two games per week and will not play in games on consecutive nights, at least for the first few months of the season.

Carlsson's agent Matt Keator said he was happy with the communication from Verbeek and with the plan itself, a program that he said has been the subject of a lot of discussion since the draft. The two spoke about it when the Massachusetts-based Keator was in California about a month ago.
