Is Sutter Muzzatti named after one of the Sutters?

Sounds like he's named after all of them.

This is why you need to have a bazillion draft picks.

Most of them never pan out and even the ones that are looking good might get a freak injury and miss a crucial year of development.

Friggin brutal.

Duane coached his dad in Indianapolis of the old IHL. As good a theory as any.

I don't think it could possibly be a coincidence to have a son named "Sutter", that isn't named after a member of the Sutter family.

It's even less of a coincidence with all the obvious connections to the Sutters.

Clearly, we aren’t allowed to have nice things.
This is why I'm totally fine with the current trajectory. The organization needs a blue chip prospect in the worst way. Most of the current prospects in the system aren't going to become difference makers in the NHL.

Hopefully Mews recovers 100%, and it doesn't become an issue for him moving forward. Sucks throwing away this season so early.

As for all the other D in the organization - this is why you need to keep drafting. It only looks like a strength until there is an injury, and a forced trade-out, or some other bad luck. With prospects, you don't really know until they 'arrive' and grow in the NHL. The most promising prospects can flop for many different reasons, on and off the ice.

Agreed, this one is unfortunate. Definitely feel for him. Was having a great start to his season.

Minor hit to depth, but he has a whooping 0 points in 9 games with the Avs. He's getting 10 minutes a game. I don't think we've lost the next Bobby Orr here.

Still some runway left, but generally agreed. Hasn't really impressed me when I've watched the Wranglers.

Lots of runway left. IMO, conditioning issues are one of the easiest deficiencies to overcome.

Lots of runway left. There are some glimpses here and there, but yea, was hoping for more from him at this point.

Still trending well. I'd rather see Brzustewicz with the big club and Parekh in the AHL (if the CHL rules weren't a thing)

You're also missing one, Eric Jamieson. His first year in the NCAA, 6 points in 8 games for a top notch University of Denver program. 6'3". Skates well. He was buried under Landon Dupont in the WHL. He gets forgotten about, but he's my dark horse prospect to watch for the Flames.

Not all these D prospects will make it, but I'm still optimistic the Flames have 3-4 impact NHL D in the group.
