Saputo has always relished in creating drama and upheaval around that team off the field, and now they he has family able to step into roles, time to reinvent itself again and cause new issues.
There’s a reason why guys like Marsch were one and done there.

From a Canada perspective Waterman to Chicago is going to be a good thing. Greggggggg is a pretty disciplined coach and hopefully he can get some of those dumb tackles out of his game. Chicago plays a style that should allow Waterman to use his passing range. I think it is a solid move for a guy on the fringes of the National team that will allow him to stay in the conversation

This is wild.
It's bad enough that Saputo's mood swings result in no stability for the club, but to install 2 of his kids in the highest sporting positions? Wow.

I'm happy (and hoping) to be proven wrong, but I don't love CPL teams going into metros that have MLS teams.
York and Vancouver are absolute disasters. It's fair to point out that they have been incompetently launched/run but I think it requires some real magic to get fans to support the "minor league" alternative in their city rather than the major league option.
Maybe this time will be different and the new owners will have everything figured out, but I much prefer to see clubs based in cities where they are "the" big summer sports entertainment option and not option #2 in soccer. I was really hoping for Quebec City with this announcement.

Just like every other market that supposedly is a good fit, Quebec City doesn't have a suitable stadium or people willing to invest. There's a big leap from "this is a good fit" to actually making it happen.

More info on the CPL team to Quebec confirmed by the TD of CS St Laurent.
Feels like this might actually happen. Especially with the Roses doing the heavy lifting on a suitable stadium for the level, albeit it is very bare bones and the turf needs replacing at minimum. But so is Wanderers Grounds....

QC would be neat. Saskatoon and Kelowna would be neat also.
How can the city the size of Edmonton not figure this thing out.

Because they are no good.
In all seriousness though, it would be great to get a team back in Edmonton and revive the Wildrose Cup.

I believe in the Jays.

Probably Kobza in midfield and Liang at rb in a back 4? If they were actually doing 3 at the back you’d think Wahling would be rwb. I guess we’ll find out soon.

Before the game I would have taken a draw but to choke it away after that first half is brutal.
Carducci gifted Ottawa a chance back into the game. Should see the bench for that, but he won't because Tommy doesn't trust anyone else

We've been talking about it for years on here - there's never been a backup goalie that can keep Carducci accountable. Which is a problem. I thought last year Carducci had mostly gotten rid of these stinkers but he's had a good number this season again. It is who he is.
If Holliday is as highly rated as they say he is, PLAY HIM!
Blowing multiple goal leads is inexcusable. They need to close things down.

Solid win today, hopefully builds some team and individual confidence down the stretch. Probably some league investigation though, Forge isn’t supposed to lose by 3.

My face is a bum!

That was a dismantling. No questions left unanswered there. No matter what happens the rest of the season, after a bit of a weird year, we'll always know we put Forge's tail between their legs and sent them back to their Temu version of Baghdad they call a city.

Complete domination, a very fun afternoon. The front four were absolutely flying and Gutierrez and Kobza dominated the midfield. I’ve never seen Bekker play so poorly. Lovely to see. The crowd was up for it big time and the players responded.
Guess we know the only reason Forge was undefeated is because they didn’t have to come to Soruce Meadows for the first 20(?!) weeks…

That’s got to be up there with our best performances of all time. Ntignee was a game changer, he was a constant threat and it created so much extra space for Toby. Kobza did a really solid job at the base of the midfield, could see him getting more minutes there.
Crowd was lively and the team put on a show, what a great afternoon! FTF

Great match. There was definitely a buzz in the air, even before the match started.
We’ve been treated to a couple of fantastic home games. The 5-4 was exciting, Klomp’s return, etc. but the result and entertainment made up for a pretty sloppy shootout.
Yesterday was totally different, and even more satisfying. Forge and their streak is all we’ve been hearing about. The league’s darlings and another “forever first” nonsense. I will admit that I wasn’t particularly optimistic. Credit to Forge, they’ve been dangerous. And Cavalry haven’t really shown that clinical, killer instinct. As recently as the last away game in Ottawa and the pissing away of that lead.
But yesterday was by far the best performance of the year. All of the players were up for it. Passing was precise, some great efforts on net (could’ve had a couple of stunners if not for a few inches), and the best part was the the defence seemed organized and confident. Just a tidy effort all around.
I’m sure that Forge and the CPL feel that Forge had an off day, but Cavalry got it right and totally owned them.
