They need to change the criteria to 30 min and 60 min programs.

It's a show about Hollywood, which as a category has always overperformed at awards. They love the smell of their own farts in that town

The Oner and the two shows where Cranston was wasted are tremendous.

There's nothing people in the entertainment industry love more than giving awards to shows/movies about the industry.

They did change it for a few years after some shows in the late-90s and early-2000s started entering the comedy category (and often winning) -- like Ally McBeal, Desperate Housewives, Shameless, and Orange is the New Black -- despite being hour long shows that had some comedic elements but weren't pure comedies.
Of course, around that time, streaming became more popular and was getting more awards consideration, and they weren't beholden to commercial tv's structure where everything had to fit within the commercial breaks, so you can get comedies that push an hour and dramas that barely hit a half hour. As a result, the changed the rules again a few years ago.

I don’t think Hollywood is shown in a flattering way on The Studio.

The season was a little uneven but some episodes were brilliant. Episode 9 with Dave Franco and the group on mushrooms is arguably the best TV episode of any series I've seen in a long time.

If you were a fan of HBO's Newsroom I would highly recommend the TV show "The Newsreader". It is available on TELUS presents in Canada (Click the On Demand button on your TELUS TV remote) and will be on AMC+ soon as well. It is a hit in Austraila where it is filmed and it looks at a "Newsroom" in the 1980s.

Any chatter in here about Chief of War on Apple?
I watched the first episode last night and thought it was pretty good. Definitely getting a "Hawaiian Shogun" vibe from it.

I can see why the Studio is nominated just from the way it's made. Shooting everything continuous like that is crazy difficult and makes every person's job 10x harder, including the actors who now maybe only get 1 or 2 takes, and so a lot of the dialogue probably has to be re-improvised and caught up with as they're filming and people inevitably forget/skip lines etc..
I think Barinholtz, Hahn, and Cranston all deserve some hardware.

The audience is so fragmented now. When there were only a few networks we all mostly experienced the same shows. Now there are so many channels, networks and services. I may never see PITT because I don’t subscribe. Those that don’t have Apple+ are missing a number of great shows.
The music industry is even more fragmented. Soon, none of us will have a common experience of artists to talk about.

I know it's not new, but one of my friends recently got me into watching The Expanse and a week later I'm starting Season 3 and loving it for the most part.
How did this show escape my attention all these years?

The Expanse is amazing and I highly enjoyed it as well. I only discovered it while I was recovering from surgery.

I watched a few episodes but couldn't tell you anything about it. Jason Momoa acting like Jason Momoa, much like that Hudson Bay show he was in or the blind people show. Decent production value though for sure

I didn't care for the first episode of Smoke on Apple, but I'm glad I stuck with it till the end. Would recommend.
Taron Egerton's accent is incredibly grating. Add the actor's mannerisms, and..yikes.

Oddly, I enjoyed it less as it went on. I will say that I am a big fan of Dennis Lehane’s work, so went in to it with very high hopes.
Movies based on his novels: Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, Shutter Island and Live by Night
He also wrote and co wrote several episodes for The Wire and Boardwalk Empire, and more recently was exec producer, show runner and writer of Black Bird
So he basically has a pretty darn strong resume.
But without spoiling anything, I will just say I think Smoke was ambitious but the execution was pretty uneven

Just finished Friends & Neighbours. I enjoyed it for what it was but wasn't a fan of the ending. I think it should have been over with S1 but a non sensical twist to bring another season is what we got instead. I'll probably tune into the next season but it won't be a priority at this point.
